As many as 1533 runs were scored during the course of the game, with bowlers struggling to get their name amongst the wickets. Fast forward three days later, Bangladesh are looking to richen their history in the capital city of Dhaka. A venue where they have won three of their last five completed Test matches; in fact, they conquered both England and Australia at the very same venue. On both those occasions, however, Chandika Hathurusingha was at the helm of things. And now, he's in the opposition dressing room, donning the same hat. Will that make any difference? No, it doesn't. At least Bangladesh would like to believe so. The lesser said about the first Test, the better, for "the pitch provided no seam movement to the fast bowlers with the new ball and also lacked carry and bounce throughout the match", in ICC Match Referee David Boon's words. If Bangladesh were to expunge any of those bitter memories, not only do they have to prepare a better pitch, but they also need to exhibit grit and greatness through their performance. While the primary focus still remains on spin bowling, both teams would look to bat heavy and bat first on what is expected to be a 'slow turner' at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Bangladesh won their last two games here after opting to bat first, and it would be a no-brainer to guess the sense and strategy of both teams. A rather great chance beckons for both sides to chase their own slice of history. Bangladesh have never won a Test against Sri Lanka at home, and for the visitors, this would be their second away Test series win in five months; a rare achievement, given their recent showing across formats. When: Bangladesh v Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, 09:30 AM local time, Thursday, 8 February2018. Where: Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka What to expect: There should be no rain interruptions, as per the weather reports, with temperatures hovering around mid-twenties. Team news: Bangladesh: Bangladesh have dropped Sunzamul Islam and Rubel Hossain, who were part of the of the 16-man squad for the first Test, and recalled Sabbir Rahman into the side. However, chances are that Sabbir might not find a place in the playing XI. One of Abdur Razzak, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Tanbir Hayder or Naeem Hasan could get the nod to replace Sunzamul Islam. Mahmudullah will continue to lead the team in Shakib's absence. Likely XI: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das (wk), Mahmudullah (c), Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Taijul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Abdur Razzak/Kamrul Islam Rabbi/Tanbir Hayder/Naeem Hasan.Sabbir Rehman Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka are unlikely to tinker with their combination from the first Test. Likely XI: Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Roshen Silva, Dinesh Chandimal (c), Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Dilruwan Perera, Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal, Lahiru Kumara, Lakshan Sandakan What they said "We believe in our bowlers. We have good memories in Dhaka against England and Australia, which will give us some confidence." - Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh. "Normally in the subcontinent, there is some turn [on] in the fourth and fifth day. I am hopeful we get a 50-50 wicket in the Dhaka Test." - Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka. ore News MOBILE SITE & APPS m.cricbuzz.com Android iOS Windows Mobile Blackberry Chrome Extension FOLLOW US ON facebook twitter youtube google+ Pinterest RSS Feed COMPANY Careers Advertise Privacy Policy Terms of Use Edited February 8, 2018 by Shy9 Link to comment

NameGoesHere
^^ His debut ODI was against Zimbabwe. In the ODI where he 'destroyed' India with 6 wickets, "trashed home team'', India won that game. Plus this pitch is spinning it like a top. He's talented but we'll see how he goes. Link to comment
