ravishingravi
Yes. Those good old days when the sheer sight of this prodigy with “power” bat taking on the opposition would be enough. When we knew that the match effectively ends if this insane talent gets out. We have another other worldly master today. I fear the equation is similar as far as opposition is concerned. Get him out and match is through. The lack of reliability of our so called batting strength is worrying. This is where England is so good. It does not depend on any individual to deliver each time. Jimmy Cliff
It's not quite the 90s. The batting right now is artificially weakened by having hacks and has beens in the line up. AuxiliA, Sgattick10, Vk1 and 3 others 6 Link to comment

Number
We have way better bowling now and our top 3 are almost equally good in ODIs at least. Need to fix 4 - never an ODI bat, 5- a makeshift hack, 6- a has been wicket keeper bat, 7 - a future Bigg boss contestant. Link to comment

Not sure about that. But the repeated selection of Karthik and Rahane absolutely stinks. I refuse to believe they're in the squad for cricketing reasons. Laaloo and SecondSlip 2 Link to comment

Silva
Gambhir, Yuvi, and Raina may not have the most eye catching stats but I remember when they were in form and well set they almost always got India past the finish line. None of the middle order batsman in the current line up give me that same type of belief apart from kohli. SG1994 and adi B 2 Link to comment

In theory, you'd have a replacement player who's been with the squad and with batting exposure and experience at the int'l level. Neither should be in the T20 squad, forget the starting XI. Same goes for Rahane. Link to comment

jinjar
You could go back to watching cricket the way we watched in 90's. Turn it off after Kohli get's out. Link to comment
speedheat
Fasttrack manjot kalra let him open with dhawan, move rohit to num. 4, bring in pant at num.5 kick rahane and dhoni out that's the only way we can compete in WC 2019, still has a time try. Shunya
Rubbish comparison. Middle order is always tough place to bat in our style of play. No point of all this wristslitting. There is always room for improvement, but people need to have some patience. We have very good team, especially with this bowling, this is no way one man show. You cannot win every single game. maniac
If we lose this game than 90s indeed...one champion player playing out of his skin and the rest of the lallooos letting him down. In 10-15 years we will have some bots or “stats” experts calling it a selfish knock or a useless innings. adi B and Laaloo 2 Link to comment
Gollum
The 90s hero led his team with the bat like a spartan in big matches, the present day hero is a perennial choker who leaves it to the Dhawans and Rohts and Rainas to compensate for his inept batting when the heat is on.
