I don't quite agree. Sehwag played in an era when 1 new ball that actually moved around existed . When you consider the impact of his average and strike rate together, you could argue that he singlehandedly took the game away from the opposition. Like the 2011 SF against Pakistan. He scored only 38 but PAK were completely on the backfoot and we're clawing back from that assault. Also Gul, the best bowler of the tournament, was psychologically deflated and couldn't bowl his Yorkers at the death either. He may have underacheived in the format but I don't think Dhawan has that impact.

By this one inning logic, Fakhar Zaman is better than both.

I love Veeru, and he is a legendary test opener, but he was average in ODIs.  Tried to to do too much hitting and got himself out way too often.

Seems like we again crawl our way to just around 300. Should aim for 330-350 on this pitch.

This is a 360 pitch if the full 50 overs are played.  Too bad tailunt gave it away again.   Its rare for us to get past 330 unless one of the openers gets a big one at 120 SR.   Virat is a machine but his optimal output ends up being in the 90-110 SR range.  Our 350+ totals are invariably powered by Rohit running rampant.  Its a bit of a major issue for us.

If Dhawan gets a hundred, we will be on track to get well over 300, but the guy loses as soon as reaching fifty.

Bad running.

That was not a run.

Dhawan and Kohli both at fault.

Kohli for running as if his oartner will surely run and Dhawan for being on danger end and yet running like a fool instead of saying “no”.

Both world class cricketers with brainless habit of running like crazy too often.

Tweet from @UPStatsman: Rohit Sharma's batting average of 11.45 in ODIs in South Africa - the lowest for any Indian batsman who has played atleast 10 innings in top-order (1-7) in any particular country.

He must drop himself or else he is going to become the worst ever to tour SA in ODIs. The worst thing is these pitches this series are not even typical SA pitches. He is just flopping big time. Should take a break from last 2 ODIs or get niggled or something.

Why the * do some batsmen pad up with helmets on? I mean its so suffocating...what if you keep watching for hours before getting a chance..by then your head is already sweating and dizzy. It 100% affects your gameplay. Such novice mistakes by professionals is just appalling.

I think some are superstitious for putting certain things on before and some are just fool lol.
