Should the Indian team atleast wear pink ribbons?

We have been seeing this year after year during Pink matches.

The other team shows full support for the cause and the Indian team just comes and plays like they couldn't care less. At least it looks like that by their non participation .It would be different if it was not a pink match for support and awareness and individually and collectively they don't give a damn . But it is not so. They participate in the match without participating in the cause.

 

The stadium is painted pink.Even most spectators take the effort to wear something pink to show support.It is not just symbolic. It is to show support and spread awareness.The SA team jerseys are going for auction .

 

Indian teams non participation in any form is not an oversight. It can't be unless the whole team,management and bcci is colour blind.

Just wearing pink ribbons won't be such a big effort.

 

Breast cancer is a world wide issue that effect families all over the world. Just a little support does not cost much .

 

It is not like the board is losing money because of some conflict of interest.They need not change the jersey,just ribbons or shoes would be enough.

 

It is not like it is a cultural thing that is alien to the team.

 

It is not a national issue.

 

It is a health issue that all women face. Even Indian women ....a lot of them .

 

So why does the team/ management / bcci not care enough to buy some pink ribbons at least.

 

I feel sad looking at these matches  and the team looks like a team of uncaring brats.

 

Would you like to see the Indian team participate in some form or the other?

It's usually the home team that asks the away team to join them in support to anything.

Definitely sure had they requested them to wear a ribbon IND would not have declined.

For  the sake of creating mass awareness in a days time while viewers watch the match on TV, it would be better if Team India too wears it.

We have had red ribbons jnn the past for a different cause so don’t think theybhave any oroblem wearing.

 

Its about someone telling them. I am sure knowing Indian attitude towards different destivals in general which never beloged to us and how we loved to to participate, Indians wouldn’t mind participating in something like this.

 

 

Its just matter of someone asking them. The Indian players do participate in the pink ball test match where they sign the hats and give out pink hats back to Glen Mcgrath before the test match. Thats participating too. 

 

Like I said, they just need to be told or offered and they would gladly wear.

they should worn pink ribbon.this not a national issue, it is an international issue and it needs everyone to pitch in.

The usage should be "couldnt care less","could care less" means you already care about it a little.Its a common mistake

If yhey did, back home, they would get criticism for not doing much for Indian causes. Better not to send out any political message.

There is nothing political about breast cancer.

Wearing a pink ribbon won't cause an uproar because it is a universal cause.It is not just for SA breasts or Aussie breasts.

 

Besides doing something similar couldn't hurt . We have more women than all other cricket playing nations .

 

Or they could start one for prostrate cancer and let other teams wear the ribbon too.

It's a sport, and even if it can create a small impact outside it should be done. It costs nothing as well.

October is the International Breast Cancer Awareness month. Not sure why SA having it in Feb in the first place. So in this instance I don't care as the funds will also go to a SA charity. India should do something similar when playing at home to collect for a local charity.

This is a PR issue and Indian team screwed it up. They should atleast have pink ribbons or wristbands. Any gesture would be nice.

BCCI babus just don't see any profitable outcome by letting Indian players wear ribbons. Maybe CSA should've offered them some money.

Yes, this could be done in home matches.
