Lead from the front with the bat through out this tour. Just amazing how he performed in every game and lead from the front with this mediocre batting otherwise. This is what we have lacked in the past. We should have at least one an ODI series in South Africa, but we could never since we did not make the best of our batting abilities in the past.

Kohli's leading from the front with the bat as captain was a big difference, with spinners being the bigger difference.

What a captain.

Great bowling by Chahal and Kuldeep also through out the series.

Just needs to make few changes by dropping certain players, and he can be tat closest thing to perfect captain we can ask for.

Well done Kohli and team India.

Would have won the series without him too. Biggest difference was the bowling and spinners never performed like this in SA.

Chahal and Kuldeep were absolute gold in this series and this win is mostly due to them.

Margin of wins were too big to cover mediocre batting.

2 ODIs India won against a stong SA team (Ist and 5th). The other 2 were weak SA teams. In any case, it doesn't take away anything from the effort of the team and Kohli the energiser bunny leading from the front.

Didn't they win with the same team last match, so what kind of weird logic are you using. No south african players past or present was stopping this Indian team from winning.

This is not putrid Pakistani team who lucked out in CT or won 1992 world cup due rain rule.Even with all the dead weight it is carrying it still whopped SA in SA.

How were they going to win the series without him, he was leading the chase of 270 in first match and he scored 160 and put a total beyond their reach in 3rd match.Chasing 150 vs chasing 300 makes a lot of difference.

I am pretty sure if the match was not curtailed, if SA had to bat all 50 overs, India would have won the 4th ODI as well. The twenty20 tee off was what got them their win, Iyer dropped Miller as well, and Chahal had got Miller earlier on a no-ball. It was a fluke win for that SA team. They have been bamboozled by the wrist spinners.

This series also busts the myth of spinners captain (Dhoni).

Perfect example of there is nothing like spinners captain from India. Being a spinners captain just means you're are poor at handling other aspects of game.

Give good spinners to any Indian captain on spin friendly pictures and he will be do well.

But isn't Dhoni the 3rd spinner in the team, 50% of the wkts of Chahaldeep is supposed to go to Dhoni.

I did not even watch the highlights. At least not yet. No willow though. However, good achievement, first time after CB series in Aus in 2008, no?

Yes first ODI series win in one of these countries overseas since that unless you want to count Champions trophy  2013.
