Prateek3801
Whoa, yes, this is interesting. He was too good in the test series and now it's completely the opposite in the ODI series, he was only able to hold his place because of his all round skills, he has come up and chipped in with some runs at the end quite often this series. This might be an occasional slump. His counterpart Bumrah has been great. I think, now that India have won the series, maybe Bumrah and Bhuvi might be rested which would make way for S Thakur and Shami. Probably Axar Patel could also be selected. Link to comment
rtmohanlal
seems he is not build for one dayers in general .Time to go for some other one day expert in his place. LORD_analyst 1 Link to comment
Jamadagni
No wonder why SA doesn't play Philander in ODIs. We are benching a bowler averaging under 25 for him. AuxiliA, G_B_, WC2011INDIA and 4 others 1 1 5 Link to comment

express bowling
1 hour ago, velu said: his batting average is 40 .. no issues 1. He has scored 13 runs per innings at a SR of 87. We need all our batters from No.4 to No.8, to up their SRs. 2. The primary role of our top 4 bowlers has to be bowling. LORD_analyst, Mosher, velu and 3 others 1 1 1 3 Link to comment
Straight Drive
85 innings and 90 wickets is bad. The wickets tally should have been more for sure considering he is specialist bowler. Link to comment
sandeep
Morne Morkel averages 82 - he should stop playing ODIs right? Even Rabada, who has bowled well - averages 48.4. Bhuvi's had a bad series - no doubt. But let's not get carried away with small slices of numbers. beetle, Sachinism and philcric 3 Link to comment

Cricketics
India has lot of bowlers waiting to be tried. Best is to start rotating bowlers and rest Bhuvi and also Bumrah. Note “rest” and “rotate” not dropped. Our new bowlers need to be tried along with guys like “Umesh” who have played for us in recent history so that we do have a good big pool of bowlers to pick from in case we need them. Bhuvi though comes right back in the picture whenever world cup or any world tournament is going on, but we shouldn’t continue to play him every game as that is also stopping us from giving chances to other bowlers. mancalledsting
Bhuvi clearly burnt out, smart posters predicted this. Kohli would have left him out to rest but for butt hurt backlash he received last time. LORD_analyst, speedheat, G_B_ and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment

This should be done to make bowling stronger. Link to comment

rkt.india
The problem has not just been average of lack of wickets. He was never a great wicket taker in ODIs, but high ER despite SA's low scores in 4 out of 5 games. i have noticed that they are really respecting Bumrah who till now has the lowest ER among all the specialist bowlers from both sides and are just trying to play him out while trying to attack BK.
