SandeepMotta
Does he deserve to comeback into the National team? Rasgulla and Ankit_sharma03 1 1 Link to comment
Laaloo
No. We already have enough hasbeens on the team as it is. Don't need one more. The Dark Horse, express bowling, Rasgulla and 7 others 7 3 Link to comment

sandeep
He was dropped because with Dhoni and Yuvraj in the ODI team, there wasn't room for another "experienced" bat in the middle order. Now that Yuvi is out, he can get a shot. To be fair, a fit and firing Raina is an instant upgrade over a Jadhav or the current version of Dhoni at #5. He's a guy who can get going quickly and hit boundaries against int'l level bowling. But is he anywhere near his prime still? velu and Cricketics 2 Link to comment
Sean Bradley
Had been an absolute gun player, definitely a better bowler, batter and fielder than Jadhav and if fit, should be given a chance to redeem his LO career. I am sure he has allot of cricket left in him. Link to comment

Can get going from ball #1, decent off spin and very good fielder despite the tummy Has no tummy... He ll be back diehardpacer, UnknownGenius and velu 2 1 Link to comment
gakgupta
he is definite upgrade to current lot at that position... But he has to work on his tummy and should be back to top... Link to comment

How about you add the disclaimer to your disclaimer - about him averaging 37.5 with SR of 113 in ODIs in England. Where the 2019 WC is going to be played. Will need Raina for WC 2019 That's right.. If he can perform in T20Is he ll be back in that Odi squad hopefully. #4 #6. He is instant fix. Edited February 15, 2018 by Rasgulla Link to comment
speedheat
If any senior I want to see back in the team is raina, despite all his weakness is still a match winner on his day, still a clutch player, better than hypocrite seniors like dhoni, way better hitting ability than iyer, jadhav, rahane and pandey, he can take that num. 6 position would love to see him bat with pandya in full flow, pant at 5 rainsla at 6 and pandya at 7 can be a perfect combo. England didnt have a gr8 bowling lineup to test him what wud happen when he ll face Sa,Aus in eng even pak, Nz bowler can trouble him big time .......most days he is walking wkt against them Edited February 15, 2018 by Ankit_sharma03 Vk1 1 Link to comment
Brainfade
Wasn't he "dropped" due to injury, but did not make it back because he could not regain his fitness until recently? Now he is back in the T20I squad. Hopefully he is picked in the 11 and makes some noise so he can make it back into the ODI squad. Link to comment

And played a crucial innings aginst Aus and Pak on the way to the 2011 WC? He has managed his short ball issues and still scored a ton of runs against all those teams you mentioned. Question on Raina is not about his abilities. It is whether he can still do it, or has faded like Dhoni has. Dhoni can still be carried by the team, because he is a quality wicket-keeper. Raina has to perform at those levels to justify selection and maintain a spot. velu and Vilander 2 Link to comment

Raina has to perform at those levels to justify selection and maintain a spot. that was 2009, his weekness wasnt even exposed 2011- again his weekness was not fully exposed Aus game had a lot of dew Against pak he attacked mostly ajmal In 2015Wc against pak, misbah was idiot ho gave him spinners at start and everyone in commentry was making fun of that idea Over the yea short pitch bowling has become a mental block, he is always on backfoot expecting it and then he gets yorked so many times . Watch is many innings in recent times n ull see he is neither of front foot neither back so he has gotten out to this problem as well. That block has lead to more weekness The question i have is what has he done to be considered, he failed badly in domestic season. Also can he make runs agianst SA, Aus, NZ, Pak attack specially under pressure .... Now playing pandya means u needs a batsman who can give u consistently 5 overs atleast....thats were again raina cnt be the answer. On some days may be not every day . We shud look among, shankar, krunal n gowtham for that role Why are we going back to him, we can atleast say someone like karthik piled on runs which is not the case with raina. T20 m still ok with but ODi...............i hve huge doubts. I hope he works but the chances seems to be less. N i hope we dnt judge his ODi comeback with T20s ThePhenomenal1 1 Link to comment
