An unbelievably special series win

This series win has been quite spectacular. And it feels so much sweeter for so many reasons:

- The odi series' in SA that we have been to before when we have been bowled out for 150 odd numerous times, its been embarassing and not even worth watching it has been that bad in the past.

- The ease that we have done it. Not just the 5-1 scoreline but the wins have been utter thrashings, its like we are playing minnows.

- The haters - Michael Holding, Paks etc

Unbelievable series win in SA, and yes we have faults of course we do but are we a sensational ODI team? Yes and the rankings (on this occasion) do not lie.

Thoughts?

this is no doubt a great series victory. if we fix the effing middle order and find someone who can partner bumrah somewhat more effectively (in general, bhuvi/shami are both fine), then we should be able to win the WC.

But I can't shake that nagging feeling that we coulda had the test series in our grasp as well.  If only we didn't screw up our team selections.

it would have been glorious. Just 2 practice games and top order with more gumption and Rahane to support Kohli to score runs and Ind would have had 1st Test in the bag. Even if we still dropped the 2nd one to catches and did what was done in the third. It would still have been 2-1.

Woud have been phenominal. But this 5-1 in ODI is still very very special, especially the wanderers test, India has owned SA fully.

Brilliant , phenomenal, out of the world... no words to describe. SAF  has always been so tough a team to beat in bilaterals irrespective of conditions, but especially at home. And they were the number 1 team  with even thrashing AUS 5-0.That being the case, to thrash them 5-1 with absolutely rolling over them in each of the victories is really extra ordinary.Even rain Gods felt sympathy for the plight of the South Africans that they decided to intervene and save SAF from whitewash humiliation .

We absolutely destroyed the Saffers in their own house.  This is worse than the treatment meted out to the Lankans.

We know who we have to "thank" for these selections. A pity because I don't know if the next touring squad will be this strong.
