Hardik has always been a GUN batsman in t20..even scoring 15 runs of 8 to 10 balls in t20 is a good performance as a batsman at the number he comes at , he has been doing OK in T20.

 

as a fielder he is probably only Next to Jadeja in INDIA.

Siraj (and Thakur) are not T20 bowlers. Both have an ER of 8 , would have preferred Krunal for Sundar for sure. I would have gone the whole hog and rested Rohit and Shikar too, got in Nair and possibly Iyer but that's unrealistic.

Karthik is well ahead of Pant in the hierarchy as a wk-batsman. The team management have made it clear time and again. However, this squad lacks a middle order option like Iyer so they may be forced to pick Pant as a specialist batsman at 6.

Looks like the selectors have no interest in Ashwin and Jadeja anymore for limited overs cricket. Btw what the hell is Axar Patel doing, where's Kuldeep Yadav? It would be nice to see if Pandey, Rahul and Pant get to play all matches.

Imo Krunal is better than Sundar, but I agree about your assessment on sundar.
