No practice games, they didn't know which lengths to ball ,else we'd have won the first match. Bowling coach also inept. Australia have played practice games and hit the correct lengths straight away Link to comment

India will fold like a cheap paperback when they are down under to this pace battery. Exactly. Australians are so philosophical and intelligent in bowling. Link to comment

Chalks
This does make me angrier that we didn’t give ourselves the best chance to win over there. South Africa are proper rubbish. Too many batters over the hill, out of form, or both. Link to comment
kira
Ab devilliers is still the best test batsman in the world, despite what the stats say, devilliers is ahead of smith as a test batsman and this match clearly showed that, he looked in a completely different league and even in the last series against India it was devilliers' innings which changed the course of the match and series Link to comment

It's the conditions man, australia are more suited to saffer conditions so they will always find it easier to adapt compared to subcontinental teams and the vice versa is true as well chewy 1 Link to comment

Sure credit to him for making himself so successful at the test level and he definitely deserves praise for that but there's more to batting than just pure stats, smith doesn't have the aura of an all time great batsman, sure he'll end up with an ATG career in test cricket. It's like English football fans focus on physicality too much. For god's sake, a batsman's job is to SCORE RUNS! Let me reconfirm: a batsman's job is to score runs! Link to comment

He's doing his job very well, when we are talking about all time great batsman then we dig deeper, smith is not at rayudu level, great batsmen get scrutinized a lot more. Cricket is not just about runs and wickets, cricket is also about entertainment, I would never pay to watch smith bat, he lacks the charisma and strokeplay of great batsman, he's found a way to score runs consistently which is why he will end up with a great test career but you won't find people tuning in just to watch smith bat. I think you are not looking at the score card. The Aussies have scored pretty well, in excess of 300! When did our bowlers have that kind of cushion? Also, the aussie bowlers got the time to get a feel of the wicket because the bowled 2nd. Our bowlers without any practise bowled first and did pretty well! express bowling and adi B 2 Link to comment

Bowling is where you should derive entertainment from. Link to comment

The conditions are almost sub-continental in this match. We had a brilliant chance to win a series in SA , especially when their star players are out of form, and yet we couldn't thanks to some reckless batting, harakiri in running between the wickets, poor team selection etc. GoldenSun 1 Link to comment

If we had this type of pitch, Ashwin would have picked up a 10-fer. Regardless of toss. He could have a 5-fer in T2, its only dropped catches that stopped him. Our batting prevented us from winning the series, bowlers did very well, and infact better than SA - if you put aside the 1st innings of the 1st test. Link to comment

Get these aussie quicks couple of days in before a test match in similar conditions and they'll concede 300 runs Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment
