World Cup Super selector

We want to make it interesting and intriguing. Any ideas folks? One idea I have is to rate each player into Great, Good and Average category. and limit the number of Greats and Good player in the team. Alternatively, rank each player with points according to the ICC ranking. and allot every participant specific number of points to select his team from. Other ideas?? Should we include SR? ER? How??

Re: World Cup Super selector I do not like the idea of categorizing players. We can select 15 players and the score of the best 11 count. Max # allowed 3/team. It would be a good idea to reward for strike rate. Maybe some kind of Bunus point for a combination of runs scored and strike rate for the inning. You do not want to reward a 10 run inning scored at a strike rate of 200+.

Re: World Cup Super selector we can have a massive SS during WC.. Few points though 1. its should not be overly complex 2. SR and ER rate should be taken into account. 3. we can have three separate SS teams during super8, semis and finals. and winner will be the one whose aggregate is the highest after adding all the three scores. 4. we should start SS with super 8 as..if we start SS qith qualifying matches...it will be too much to handle..and interest will lose. 5. so my suggestion is to break WCSS in three parts...super8, semis and finals since everything will be automatic... we can make it interesting within the limited parameters. 6. and i believe point system for each player will be a cumbersome process. 7. we can borrow some of the rules from our CT SS.

Re: World Cup Super selector

How do we consider Economic Rate??
keeping 5 RPO as the midpoint, subtract (RPO - 5) * number of overs bowled from your total points. 10 overs, 60 runs, 3 wickets would mean: 3 * 25 - (6 - 5)*10 = 75 - 10 = 65 points 10 overs, 43 runs, 2 wickets would mean: 2 * 25 - (4.3 - 5)*10 = 50 + 7 = 57 points

Re: World Cup Super selector

Can you implemet this Total score/ by 5 to be the median for bowling 10 overs. Score 250 median 250/5 = 50 off 10 overs RR 5 Score 300 median 300/5 = 60 off 10 overs RR 6 Score 350 median 350/5 = 70 off 10 overs RR 7
dc, i think it would go like this. total score for the innings when you bowled: 320 in 50 overs baseline RPO for you and the other bowlers in your team for that match: 320/50=6.4

Re: World Cup Super selector 10 overs, 50 runs, 2 wickets in context of total opp score would mean: Opp Score 250 --- 250/5 = 50 Median RR 5 in 10 overs 2 * 25 - (5 - 5)*10 = 50 - 0 = 50 points Opp Score 300 --- 300/5 = 60 Median RR 6 in 10 overs 2 * 25 - (5 - 6)*10 = 50 + 10 = 60 points Opp Score 350 --- 350/5 = 70 Median RR 7 in 10 overs 2 * 25 - (5 - 7)*10 = 50 + 20 = 70 points

10 overs, 50 runs, 2 wickets in context of total opp score would mean: Opp Score 250 --- 250/5 = 50 Median RR 5 in 10 overs 2 * 25 - (5 - 5)*10 = 50 - 0 = 50 points Opp Score 300 --- 300/5 = 60 Median RR 6 in 10 overs 2 * 25 - (5 - 6)*10 = 50 + 10 = 60 points Opp Score 350 --- 350/5 = 70 Median RR 7 in 10 overs 2 * 25 - (5 - 7)*10 = 50 + 20 = 70 points
correct.

Re: World Cup Super selector any more ideas.. should we reward exceptional performances like 150 or 6 wicket haul..Those things are not rare. Ofcourse we will do this in Super eight competition.. If you score 150 runs you get bonus points= 50 and same thing with 6 wicket haul.
