I think many members of team India may also know what Shami was upto. Shami maybe India’s brightest pace prospect - but I feel we should set a high character benchmark for Team India - we are not Pakistan. His wife looks like an innocent sufferer in all these matters and Shamis denial has been weak and suspect. He looks almost certainly guilty. What matters is BCCI did not renew contract. They did not wait for court to find whether this is truth or false. Court results take years. By the time court ruling comes if at all she opts for litigation many matches can be fixed using honey traps on him during this time. If he has problems let him fight against BCCI in court. Why is he not doing so if he is genuine. ? BCCI is under no obligation as he is not their permanent employee, rather he is a contract employee. Affair is a personal issue and will not have an impact on his playing career. Its the allegation of domestic violence/harassment which is serious. If proved Shami can go to jail for that.
