Popular Post Trichromatic
Downside of this would be players doing well in ODIs will get more chances. Rohit in first 3 tests and Rahane in remaining tests may become regular feature. LORD_analyst, tweaker, DHONI_FANN and 12 others 7 1 7 Link to comment
tweaker
Why it took board such a huge time to rectify this problem. The board should also ensure that the team at least plays 2 practice games before the tests Link to comment
Sgattick10
Why does bbci have aversion to pratice matches? Turning_track, velu, LORD_analyst and 2 others 5 Link to comment

nevada
Yes! Finally a sensible idea from BCCI. Link to comment
PBN
So instead of getting proper FC matches as practice matches, we are going to get 50 and T20 as warmup matches for the Test series. Also, for the English tour there are just 3 ODIs and with the next WC in England, India should've played atleast 5 ODIs Turning_track and LORD_analyst 2 Link to comment
NameGoesHere
Good step. It won't solve all our problems but is better than doing nothing. However, what do guys who don't get a game in the shorter formats - Cheteshwar and maybe KL Rahul - do? Can they find locals / FC games to play? Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Good as long as we don’t confuse formats and pick test team based on white ball stuff nevada 1 Link to comment
saik
Does this mean there wont be any practice matches? What will the test specialists do? Edited March 12, 2018 by saik Link to comment
WC2011INDIA
Ya so that those who can't bat at all in Test will get selected for the first couple of tests because of how well they did in ODIs/T20s. Another way for Rohit and Dhawan to prolong their test career. Link to comment

coffee_rules
Bad move, imo. This will give a reason to select hacks like Rohit and Dhawan ahead of Pujara/Rahane and KLRhaul into the test team. OTOH, it is overseas, so Rohit might be a Rohit and will not be considered at all for tests I think BCCI should arm-wrestle to schedule LOIs and Tests in 2 different tours like what SA/Aus do. This will not make it a long tour for some who play all formats. adi B 1 Link to comment
