The boy has to file a suit/complain it to law enforcement for it to be pursued, like how Weinstein case came about. If there are a lot of cases, then prosecution can lay charges on it's own based on suo moto action, as it did for Bill Cosby. But the boy is looking for a career in music, suing American Idol will get his nowhere. She being in a place of power in the music industry can hurt his chances. I think he got his 15 mins already.
