Since this is one area where we have been poor in T20 internationals, let's look at the strike rates of current Indian batsmen.

Most number of 4s, top 5:

Most number of 6s, top 5:

Best batting strike rate so far:

It's not a surprise seeing Kohli's strike rate in mid 130s. We need more players who can hit 4s and 6s, not 1s and 2s.

Without going in to strike rates

Batters who I feel can hit that ball right from the word go, genuine hard hitters are

1)  pandya

2) gowtham

3) pant

4)kl Rahul

 Any othe?

Pandya and Pant are relatively limited , I mean they have a zone . Gowtham its too early and I think hes more of a lower order hitter .

KL and Samson are more versatile and can potentially be more destructive . I have seen very little of Nitesh Rana , but he hits clean from what I have seen .

Both Rayudu and Mandeep have made huge strides. Was Rayudu always this good or it's just an anomaly? He's like 32 now, with the next T20 worldcup scheduled for 2020, he'll be over 35. I think it's lost case for him.

Even after having the best SR, the most number of 4's and good enough sixers i won't be surprised if Rahul does not feature as opener in next T20i.

thats where he needs to give a killer blow, these 40-50s wnt be enough get a few big ones .......and he has the capability. He has been outscoring gayle .

So consistent 40s and 50s are not enough in t20s to be in t20i x11?

not enough when ur captain n team mngmt is ignoring u .........if they have closed the door no other way then break it

Make it hard for them to ignore.

take kohli xample, he wasnt a part of 2011 wc plans till a year ago.....rohit was ahead in radar. Kohli scored 100 after 100......he not only made it to the squad but fixed his place in 11
