He must stop flying in the mumbai clouds and come back to earth. Hardik. stop cutting your hair like a panwala and start working hard. You represent the Indian team. YOu should be proud that you are representing a nation of over a billion people. Dont ever take your luck seriously. you are judged by your national performances not by this bambi franchise. Get real.

Hardik is Cricket's Disha Patani.
He is there on the silver screen, is popular , has great name great recognition, endorses several brands , dates the best girls, has the best style sense (sarcasm), blah blah blah....but then when it comes actually to the real stuff, one will be kept scratching his/her head as to what achievements he have done as a cricketer.
I do not follow cricket regularly , but I know how good bowler Kumble was or how many centuries Sachin made.
How diligent was Rahul Dravid or Dada's brilliant captaincy.
I get that Hardik is apparently a good fielder but I really can't remember him for his cricketing creds as much as I know him for him dating that gori chick Elli Avram.
Down the years , he will be simply known as a "cricketer" who is more seen in variety shows like Bigg Boss and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
Kinda like Kambli and Jadeja but atleast they had better cricketing records than this Pandya.

Nice to meet you....Hope I will have fun discussing cricket with you guys.

Hardik is too raw for international cricket IMO.
I was checking his bio 2-3 days back and I was like *ing shocked at how scant his domestic record was.
Like really!!!!
He was just a random Club cricketer who managed to wrestle into domestic scene and eventually into the IPL.
And that one fateful last ball sixer+being a Mumbai Indians player endorsed by "The God" Sachin Tendulkar basically propelled him to a permanent spot in the Indian National Team.
(we all know how the Nita Ambani-Bunty Sajdeh clique work)
Especially when there are more skilled and talented players rotting in the domestic and India A level.
Probably even a CAB 1st division player has more skill than this ShowPony Pandya.
BCCI should have groomed and polished Hardik more in the domestic level and then India A level .
Then he might have been a moderately good player.
But he was unfortunately pushed into the highest level when he was absolutely not ready for that level of grind and now the fame has got into his head.
Cricket is not always about talent- it is equally about skill.
And I believe domestic experience help building that skill.
Yes, selectors need to back a player initially in the national level- but you can never build basic skills at that level.
It is all about consistent performance and showcase of your cricketing expertise there.
Dude , it is not FIITJEE/Aakash/Kota-but the real JEE-Advanced.
Have you ever heard people failing JEE-Advanced constantly to become expert in Physics/Chemistry/Maths ?
No, they take specialised tuitions for it.
Mock tests can help you understand your weaknesses and help you re-analyze yourself so that you can ace the main exam.
Similarly , international cricket I feel is the level where the players will have to give the best to win the match and not use them as their training camps.
You're in it to win it.
Meanwhile , the BCCI is trying to make Pandya who doesn't even deserve to play state level domestic cricket into the next Kapil Dev by retaining him for years as a permanent feature of the Playing XI in all 3 formats.
I never knew a player could become a Test regular by having so less Ranji experience while Wasim Jaffer could not make it despite being such a successful Ranji veteran.SMH.
Well, some people do improve after staying in the national circuit for long enough but Hardik is currently too busy+distracted to play cricket right now LMAO.
To be honest , at this point I feel he is just warming the seat for "Son of God" Arjun Tendulkar.
That guy is apparently a fast bowling all rounder who is being groomed by Papa Tendulkar to get into The National Cricket Team.
And it is way easier to push Arjun in as a replacement for a deadweight Pandya in the excuse of non-performance as opposed to replace a more deserving player.
Anyways people are ready on their single toe to see Hardik go (I don't think he'll improve much-rather his cricketing skills are actually regressing, especially batting) plus Arjun seems to be a decent enough age group cricketer, good with both the bat and ball.

Next Kapil Dev. An interesting point you bought forward. Seems that you have probably watched Kapil play. Think most over here have not watched Kapil Dev, so comparisons are done very easily. It cannot be avoided, after all it is a forum and everyone has their own views. I do agree that Hardik is nowhere near the class of Kapil. He is not even in class of Irfan  Pathan yet imo. But the problem is the next best is Vijay Shankar. Beggars beleif that. The cupboard is bare in that aspect. It will be interesting to see how the all rounder void is filled. Hope he steps up else we are doomed with Vijay Shankar coming in.

No I haven't seen Kapil Dev play.

Heck , I haven't even seen Sourav Ganguly play for that matter.

But I have seen Hardik Pandya play and I can certify that he doesn't deserve to play International cricket at the moment.

He is talented no doubt , but his skill level is very low.

I have taken cricket lessons in my childhood and I feel it is one of the sports where hard work can overshadow natural talent .

Developing proper technical skills is VERY important.

There is a reason I am not in favour of fast tracking players.

Especially someone as Hardik who has negligible experience in the domestic levels and is very unpolished as whole.

He has  very shoddy stats in both bowling and batting.

1 or 2 power hits don't necessarily make one a good batsman.

Oh , BCCI needs to first decide whether Hardik is a bowling allrounder or a batting allrounder.

He seems to be leaning towards bowling but his backers are totally focused on making him a batsman.

This lack of direction in his training I feel is potentially limiting his abilities to grow as a player.

He is still being played as a part time bowler and a variable batsman which is impacting his growth as a player.

I think after that Fateful IPL sixer,BCCI should have tested him in Domestics/Ind A.

The senior national team is not a place to groom a player who is supposed to be the next big thing in desi cricket.

Especially now that the senior team management is a literal mess.

I know barring that 3(19) knock, Pandya has done well in IPL, including 4 wickets and a half century in yesterday's match.

But that doesn't change the fact that he is not a good player, leave being an allrounder

I think Desi Cricket should stop thinking about the all rounders concept for a while and instead train their bowlers to bat more.

The more desi cricket authorities will fawn about all rounders ,the more shitty and useless players will continue crowd the team leaving the better deserving people to rot in the domestics.

To be frank, Irfan Pathan was a talented dude but attempts to turn him into an all rounder ruined him.

I would say he is better than that, he has potential to reach and achieve what Irfan Pathan did.

Irfan Pathan batted as pinch hitter when Azhar started promoting him in ODI. He was much better bowler than what Hardik Pandya is now.  Hardik is much better than Irfan in fielding though.Don't think Irfan was ruined by him being developed as all-rounder. He was hampered by injuries a lot and once those kept on recurring he lost the performances as well.

Gradually the pace all-rounder quality is decreasing in Indian cricket. Kapil Dev> Irfan > Hardik.

"get ready. get ready for the action" :hysterical: . this dhokla tries to walk like a thug when the cameras were on with his lean frame and says this with a black american accent. what a loser. He also tried to tell Pant where to go. In a fist fight between the two, Pant would beat Pandya till he is black and blue

He should leave cricket and become a stand up comedian/side actor in B-grade Bollywood flicks.
