It is an impressive achievement. While the world moves in one direction, Pakistan remains stuck in time warp.
Gollum
Wow that's impressive considering how poverty stricken Bangladesh was once upon a time. Their population growth % too is under control, but that may be because India is sheltering 20 million illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
Stradlater
Bangaladesh through concerted Govt and private efforts had it's open defecation reduced from 40 percent to mere 1 percent in a period between 2003 to 2016. Aur humara Swachh Bharat Allah bharose hai.
sandeep
Irony is that Pakistan wouldn't exist as a nation if not for Bengali muslims. You can actually argue that the Bangladesh is the "real" Pakistan, and what's left is just random leftover crumbs masquerading as a country. No wonder there is so much internal chaos in green-bro land. The Baloch didn't really want to be part of this, The Pukhtoon would have happily been part of India - this is why Bacha Khan was imprisoned for decades, and his son wrote a book that outed Jinnah as a British agent. That leaves Sindh, Punjab and the muslim expats from bhaiya-land. A big fat chunk of whom are either feudals, or busy exploiting awaam for all they can extract. Sure to remain a headache for all its neighbors for quite some time to some.

panther
NGOs poisoned the wells in Bangladesh thus making a lot of the women infertile, NGOs tried to do that in Pakistan but taliban killed a few of them so they are reluctant to come.

Problem with our neighbours is that it very difficult to gauge when they are being serious or sarcastic. Turning_track and randomGuy

Plausible. I also heard that the Taliban fired some rockets at the sun and had a fatwa declared against it for shining with equal intensity at the true believers and the infidels. How dare the sun! Turning_track
Once termed as a basket case by Henry Kissinger, Bangladesh surely has come a long way. GDP growth rate over the last decade is impressive too . Their textile industry fetch them billions of dollars & having homogeneity in culture, language all over the country has helped them. chewy
With new census, even Bangladesh’s nominal GDP per capita has overtaken Pakistan In 2-3 years, Bangladesh will effectively be South Asia’s 2nd biggest economy. And with current population growth trends in Pakistan, the average Bangladeshi will be 20-30% richer than the average Pakistani maybe Modi should swap West Bengal for Bangladesh Pakistan is basket case, with population growth twice than India and Bangladesh. India too needs to reduce it’s pop growth from 1.4% to 0.5%
