Big Picture

Diesel prices have hit an all-time high in Delhi, and the city's IPL team is stuck in yet another low. Reeling from a hat-trick of defeats, including last week's knockout punch, Delhi Daredevils can only battle for pride in their penultimate game on home turf.

Amid thunderstorms of both the literal and figurative kind, Delhi gears up to host Chennai Super Kings, who have already qualified for the playoffs. CSK's most recent win, against leaders Sunrisers Hyderabad, saw quick bowler Deepak Chahar mark his return from injury with a stingy opening spell. Subsequently, Ambati Rayudu smashed an unbeaten maiden IPL hundred and sealed the win in his captain MS Dhoni's company.

why? this is an inconsequential game. DD are already out of the knockouts. this is a dead rubber.

Pretty sure Dhoni will play the same XI and the same batting order... and come up the order if they get a good start.... coz...

...it’s all part of the process

even that game is by all practical purposes is a dead rubber.  KXIP are out, only a miracle can save them and will have to win against CSK by a huge margin. Their NRR is poor.  RCB and MI have great NRRs. Only if both RCB and MI loses their games and KXIP beat CSK then KXIP has any chances.  Cant see MI and RCB both losing their games. even if one team wins, KKR will be through and not KXIP unless KKR lose by big margin against SRH. Even RCB losing is unlikely in the absence of Butler and Stokes. if KKR wins against SRH, they are through and only one of RCB and MI will go through. RCB will have to beat RR By a big margin take their NRR above MI but then MI will have the opportunity beat DD by a big margin though they will have to tame Pant for that to happen.

Bhai wo match to aap khelne se pehle hi jeet chuke ho :giggle:

You never know... MI is a large hearted team... it’s not like the khasoot budhaus of CSK who take IPL very seriously and gets proud beating young upcoming kids...

MI has already encouraged the young players in the previous match. They’re not as ruthless as the ones you meeting tonight.

Why? MI already lost one match to them. Why don’t you ask your team to encourage the young players?

:nono: Young bucks if they win today will become cocky and won’t turn up against the bambanis.
