Him scoring a t20 50 in a winning cause is an oxymoron

Used to like him when he made his debut even now I like him and his attitude but sadly he should just play or stick to Test matches not fit for shorter formats.

IDK If you people will agree or not, but Kamalesh Nagarkoti has a weird but attractive star quality to him.
He catches your attention in whatever screen time he gets in a KKR video.
I remember watching that Nokia KKR ad and I was instantly drawn towards noticing him.
He can make it big in the alternative film like(ala Rajkummar Rao and Nawazuddin Siddique) if his cricket career flops.

Rahane has done nothing in all matches. Samson is their second highest run getter after Butler. Don't think rahane even has one 50.

Again Rahane had a mediocre  season this and last, many seasons he is amongst the runs for RR and sometimes in the entire IPL, ie

Batting and Fielding Mat No Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 4s 6s CT ST
Career 126 15 3427 103* 32.95 2,848 120.33 1 26 359 65 50 0
2018 15 1 370 65* 28.46 313 118.21 0 1 39 5 4 0
2017 16 1 382 60 25.46 323 118.26 0 2 35 9 7 0
2016 14 3 480 74 43.63 379 126.64 0 6 54 9 7 0
2015 14 2 540 91* 49.09 413 130.75 0 4 53 13 3 0

Those are good seasons, no one will/should compare him to say a Warner or Rohit, but he's hardly as bad as some people make it seem. He's not an international quality T20 player, agreed, but he's hardly crap in the IPL.

Sanju on the other hand, in the last 4 seasons

Batting and Fielding Mat No Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 4s 6s CT ST
Career 81 7 1867 102 26.67 1,466 127.35 1 10 142 76 39 3
2018 15 1 441 92* 31.50 320 137.81 0 3 30 19 5 0
2017 14 0 386 102 27.57 273 141.39 1 2 32 19 4 0
2016 14 3 291 60 26.45 259 112.35 0 1 20 8 3 1
2015 14 1 204 76 20.40 163 125.15 0 1 16 8 9 0

The last 2 have been his best, yet he still doesn't average even 32 yet. I mean that strike rate is good, but a high strike rate and a low average doesn't scream star. He gets picked every season and doesn't do much, yet he gets a pass for being "talented" and hitting a few gorgeous sixes.  Some people even want him to get a place in the international side, when other keeper-bats have far superior numbers, ie Dhoni, DK, Uthappa, yet people want to drop Dhoni and don't generally push for DK or Uthappa in the international T20 side.

Even Pant has improved so much in his 2nd/3rd seasons, much more than Sanju has improved in 6.

Pant

Batting and Fielding Mat No Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 4s 6s CT ST
Career 38 3 1248 128* 35.65 767 162.71 1 8 115 67 15 5
2018 14 1 684 128* 52.61 394 173.60 1 5 68 37 4 2
2017 14 0 366 97 26.14 221 165.61 0 2 28 24 8 3
2016 10 2 198 69 24.75 152 130.26 0 1 19 6 3 0

Even this season, check his performances for the Royals, this is the first time he crossed 30 in 10 innings. He scored a 30, 40 and 90 in the first 4 matches, after that he didn't cross 30.

I have a bad feeling about this game specially the way RR batted. They were cruising one stage and suddenly it was unplayable !!! I think they did not hit a boundary for more than 20 odd balls at the end.

one thing you are forgetting is Rahane has opened moslty and has a settled spot in the XI. Samson was kept moving up and down, never had a certain spot in any team. SR of 120, batting in PP is a crime. How many runs you scored then does not matter.  This comparison is anyway flawed. Rahane is a veteran in front of Samson and an established international cricketer.  Samson was doing so well at 3 early on, but they moved him down to accommodate Rahane at 3 once he failed as opener and they promoted Butler to open and once he moved down to 4, he started struggling. You are bringing 2015 stats of Rahane, Samson was a 20 year old then. Not many 20 year olds can score consistently in T20 cricket.

Pant is a special player. I said it when he did not even play U19 WC and was making waves in U19 domestic tournament.
