Vilander
"It would not be right for me to pick and choose where, when and in what format I play for the Proteas. For me, in the green and gold, it must be everything or nothing. I will always be grateful to the coaches and staff of Cricket South Africa for their support through all these years. The most important thank you goes out to all of my team mates throughout my career, I wouldn't be half the player that I am without the support throughout the years. That sounds right, not selfish..does not want to linger till 2019 WC pick and choose games to score more centuries against BD, to get a victory lap. Great player. Link to comment
Garuda
I thought he would retire after the WC next year, but I think he has made the right decision. Thanks for the memories AB. Have a good retirement buddy and hope to see you involved in cricket or commentary. Link to comment
Tibarn
SA batting becomes unwatchable. No ABD, no Kallis, and Steyn on his last legs. Link to comment
cowboysfan
I respect his decision but he should have atleast played in the WC,maybe they can persuade him in a years time. Link to comment
putrevus
SA abused him for being good in everything that led to fatigue and forcing him to taking a break last year.Once active sportsman takes a break and he is not the same anymore. He is one of greatest all rounder cricketers we have a seen, they might have better batsmen or WKs but this guy could do everything on the field except bowling. Cricket is poorer without his talent.
