Chahar has not displayed any ability to bowl with the older ball or when the ball is not swinging.

 

In ODIs, it won't be possible to bowl more than 6 overs with the newish ball.

We already have two quality death bowlers in Bhuvi and Bumrah.However Bhuvi ability to take wickets in power play overs have declined badly.

 

With the World Cup in England we need a swing bowler who can tak regular wickets upfront .The inability to take wickets at the top one of the major reasons Pakistan hammered us CT final.

 

Umesh and Chahar have been our two bets power play bowlers in IPL this season.One of them is a must for ODI/T20 team.The other can be back up.

Why are some cricket enthusiast longing for another trundler? Trundlers, who are notorious for their fragmentary effect in limited overs cricket where wickets are bound to be highways dont warrant selection,We have Bhuvi for it

I am not in favour of choosing too many pacers who can bowl only in the first 10 overs of an ODI.  Umesh is likely to be there as he is already in the ODI team and in the Team India setup. Can't take 2 such pacers.

 

Better to choose a pacer who can pick wickets upfront as well as bowl later.

Rayudu and Raina already in Team India squads to England.

 

Maybe we will choose Shanatan Wat-ke-poot  next if a batsman is injured

next few years we will see retreads from csk getting back into Indian team. Sad days

His batting is a real plus, he can be our David Wiley.. swings new ball, handy batter considering lack of firepower in our non existing middle order. 

 

Bhuvi, bumrah, Kuldeep,  Y chahal, pandya.

I would rotate Deepak Chahar with Bhuvi and Hardik based on the pitch and form.

A big No, don't want any such bowler who becomes liability after 2 -3 overs, he looks innocuous if swing is not available, unlike bhuvi he can't seam the ball, can't bowl yorkers at the death,  his pace is also not good enough. It hardly swings now in England in loi, most of the tracks are flat, chahar will be cannon fodder on such tracks.

Thank god, dhoni is not our captain anymore  otherwise we would have had unadkat, chahar and mohit sharma opening the bowling for us
