Trichromatic
No one has been more dominant than Kohli among their peers in history of Indian cricket. He has been on different level as batsman in last 4 years. No bolwer has won in last 5 years. Budhi Kunendran was one of the best WK of India. Good to see BCCI giving recognition to older generation. I am shocked, no way does Kohli deserve 5 !!!! IMO Ashwin should have won in 2015/16 and Ashwin or Jadeja or Pujara in 2016/17. Even 2014/15 award to Kohli looks fishy because he had a disastrous WC and bar the Aus tour hadn't yet shifted to high gear in tests. And why so few bowlers in the awards list, even Zak's cupboard is empty. When will we start treating bowlers as an important component of the game? We can discuss this in some other thread. This one is about BCCI top awards to players, umpires and other staff involved with Indian cricket. We can continue about that only. Trichromatic
They are giving awards for 2016-17 too and Diana Edulji declined Lifetime achievement award for women. Quote Mr. Vinod Rai, Chairman, CoA, said, “I congratulate all the winners of the BCCI Annual Awards. The last two years have been fabulous for Indian Cricket with both the men and women’s teams doing very well. We are proud of their achievements and this is our small way of acknowledging their on-field efforts.”Ms. Diana Edulji, member CoA, said, “This year we will be presenting awards for the past two seasons and it is going to be a big occasion ahead of the historic Test against Afghanistan. For the first time, an award category for the best International Cricketer (Woman) has been introduced and it is a step in the right direction.”BCCI Acting President, Mr. CK Khanna said, “The BCCI Annual Awards is an occasion where former greats of the game, the present generation and the stars of tomorrow come under one roof. For BCCI, it is an opportunity to show its gratitude towards cricketers who enrich this game with their skills and hard work.”Mr. Rahul Johri, CEO, BCCI said, “Every year we have champion players delivering champion performances. Awards help boost a player's confidence and we only hope that we get more noteworthy performances in the season to follow.” UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Rahul has 100s in debut overseas series in Aus, Lanka, WI and 100s in all 3 formats. His test series against Aus last year was indeed special....you can't discount home performance or next someone will say Laxman's 2001 Aus series or SRT's 1998 Aus exploits have no value. We were on the cusp of a humiliating series loss against a peaking Australia and Rahul got 7 50s in difficult conditions. Anyway let's not derail this thread, there are many other threads where this subject has been discussed.
