Rohit Fails Yo Yo test on 17th June, gets another chance to prove on 20th

Recommended Posts

Apparently,  at 16.1, India has among the lower thresholds for passing the yo yo test. Pakistan requires 17, West Indies 19, New Zealand 20. Don’t know if they make exceptions. Any way, I have less sympathy for Rohit, if he fails, than someone like a Rayudu or a Samson. He is an experienced international player who knows how strict these requirements are. He has made a fortune from the game. If he can’t do it himself he could invest in a trainer and a nutritionist to babysit him and make sure he stays fit. Finally, the guy gets so many chances. Maybe he needs to learn that there is a consequence to failure. Now if he passes the test tomorrow, then good for him!

See this article for more info on the yo yo test standards. http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/21651933/nagraj-gollapudi-how-yo-yo-test-became-selection-standard-international-teams

Not fake. It was on news channels.

He will easily clear yo yo test. He may be chubby but doesn't move around in field like an unfit. Has always fieldes well. Neither is he very slow while running between the wickets.

Samson is one of the best fielders we have got.Still he failed.Even Raina who is one of the fastest runners around and a gun fielder also failed for the first time.So its not necessary that Rohit will pass.

its the stamina that is tested in Yo-Yo.  Yo-Yo is not that easy. he has already failed yo yo test in IPL twice.  I want him to fail this test, so, that we can see what team management does now. Will they drop him or make an exception.  If they drop him then it will set the right precedent and force him and others to either get fitter or get litter.

hew failed yo yo test in IPL that is why there is so much discussion about his yo yo test. it was probably today.

He doesn't look like someone who will pass it ,but i heard the news on TV,that he was supposed to arrive on 18 but arrived very late last night so the test now will be on 20.

Rohit Sharma failed to clear the Yo-Yo fitness test on Sunday (June 17) and requested the board and the team management to grant him more time. It is now being stated that the batsman will be given a second chance on Wednesday (June 20).
