Having said that, I'm not thrilled with Thakur's selection. I guess the selectors and team want to send a message that once you are selected into the squad, you are going to get a decent bunch of chances, instead of being written off after a game or 2. Apart from picking up a bunch of Ranji wickets, I'm not sure what Shardul has really demonstrated to get into the Indian squad. He doesn't have height/bounce, or pace, or exceptional swing or control. Rayudu gets an Indian ODI team call just based on an awesome IPL while Pant who has been even more awesome in IPL struggles to get into even T20 squad. Deepak Chahar jumps ahead of Rajput and others who have been on selector's radar for sometime and magically finds a place in Indian team.Something is suspicious. In the Indian setup the captain has a major role in team selection and his inputs are definitely considered even while choosing the squad. If likes of Bhuvi, Bumrah or Shami gets injured, there are no suitable replacements. Thaur, Unadkat, Chahar, Kaul, Siraj etc are absolute rubbish and oozes mediocrity. If any batsman gets injured, there are 10 readily available to replace them but cant say the same for (fast) bowlers. @rkt.india - What is happening man?
