Not sure if stats warranty a comparison between Kohli and Lloyd. The latter was a tiger. He revolutionized West Indies cricket. Even Ponting was not a great captain but was helped by a world-beating champion team just like how Kohli is being helped by Dhoni.

Atm we are more like 2000s-early 2010s SA rather than ATG WI/Aus. Impeccable stats but can't seem to win trophies... winning these useless matches wont leave a legacy for sure, kuch bada karna chahiye.

1. A captain is a good as team and he has a terrific team.....he ha sthe luxury of kuldeep, chahal, bumrah, bhuvi the death bowler, hardik the all rounder.

A much fitter bunch- which kohli no doubt deserves credit

2. A good captain will make most out of his resources

 

Now despite such terrific record kohli is not a gr8 LOI captain, coz he never completes that 2nd criteria. Most captain will have  agr8 record with such team . Even ponting record changed when his team changed. 

 

KL rahul is the biggest xample how kohli hasnt used his resources and then so much fast bowling stock avl yet the fringes look poor. With so much talent avl yet going back TTF is another xample how he hasnt been able to use the talent thats on display. 

 

With the talent avl kohli cud have taken this team on a diff level but he hasnt. Number will never reflect that how poor most oppositions have become

This. Winning major titles and crucial matches is the real test of the captain. Not some useless bilaterals. We got absolutely humiliated in CT finals.

but that way ganguly shudnt be considered a gr8 captain, he use to loose finals like anything . A captain can only do if he has the team. Same ricky ponting had diff result in wcs with diff teams.

Winning overseas Tests will what separates him from Dhoni and ofcourse world cup. As of now he is still at Dhoni's level and that's nothing to be proud about. The Test team were in gutters under Dhoni's captaincy.

Lets be fair and check his figures after 100 games. He is a great player but he needs to do at least half what Dhoni or Ponting did as captain. Win more trophies that's it  

Anyway I appreciate his effort as captain who is so much animated on the field.

Aus invincibles dominated all teams in their homes absolutely bashed them in Aus. Wi i am told beat every team home and away for x number of years..thats what this team should aim.

Moreover Aus made 4 WC finals and won 3 of those in 1996-2007 while WI won 2 out of 3 finals in 1975-1983....those are out of the world stats. Very difficult to match those achievements for any team and we are nowhere close as of now. Simply 2000s SA type impressive home/away W-L won't cut it, we need to translate this bilateral success to trophies that too across 3-4 WCs before any comparison to those 2 legendary teams can be made.
