Dhoni chamchas often point to his numbers as evidence of his good performance over the past few years but if we look closely at Yuvi's numbers they are in fact better. And its unanimously agreed upon that Yuvi is way past it. Not sure how MSD has managed to gather so much blind support. beetle, UrmiSinhaRay and raki05 1 2 Link to comment
NameGoesHere
I'm a long time admirer of Dhoni's leadership, playing ability and sheer will that saw him win so many games at the death But it's time to go. Just like we (or I at least) associate the 2011 cup win with that indelible and iconic six off Kulasekara, I don't want to see a half-cocked, half -a -second -behind Dhoni at the 2019 cup tarnishing my memory of such a fine career. rtmohanlal
No ....I don't think Dhoni should go now....yes ... today's performance was strange...but i think Dhoni can still bat one up the order .Another hard hitter should replace him. He is still good at playing an anchor role and then hard hitting. And he is still the brilliant keeper by far. Link to comment

diga
Kohli cant play Dhoni/Raina/Rohit/Dhawan together.. Needs to play only 2 of them in any match. If we dont start now, 2019 world cup is as good as gone. (2019 world cup format is where every team plays the other. We will be severely exposed there ) mancalledsting and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment

Not talking about batting positions. Dhoni can easily play at no:4 .Keep in mind that he is a multidimensional player who is a brilliant kepper and can aid Kohli in captaincy too.His only problem off late has been not able to hit out straight away. But with his past ability in mind and also his record in the last 2 years(able to maintain the avg: but a bit lower str: rate) , it can be easily said that he can play the anchor+hitter role to perfection at 4rth position. For instance suppose the 2nd team wkt falls with in first 15 overs. Then he can come and consolidate. Suppose the 2nd wkt falls only after 35th over. Then another hitter can come at the crease in place of Dhoni.Keep in mind this is a format where a lot more flexibility in batting positions can be afforded when compared to test cricket.Sachin,Gilchrist.Sehwag,M.Waugh,Ganguly etc are all examples of this. So I do think Dhoni still deserves a place in the eleven. His vast experience in several ways would be a worth if channeled properly especially keeping in mind that world cup is only with in one year reach. mani sha, UrmiSinhaRay and Laaloo 1 2 Link to comment
