like to remind you again .. DK played one of the best T20 innings ever in his last game for us :phehe:

Nothing hurts a players confidence more than not playing him after he has done everything they ask for. It is cruel what Kohli and Shastri are doing to DK. Shame.

Dhoni is the bestest.

Result of chasing was visible. But its not about knowing the chase, this thread.

Its about Dhoni's worth in the team. Yours truly supports Team India's winning above all. Dhoni supports himself above all. You support Dhoni above all. Case closed.

excellent stats bhai. Dhoni chamchas often point to his numbers as evidence of his good performance over the past few years but if we look closely at Yuvi's numbers they are in fact better. And its unanimously agreed upon that Yuvi is way past it. Not sure how MSD has managed to gather so much blind support.

I'm a long time admirer of Dhoni's leadership, playing ability and sheer will that saw him win so many games at the death

But it's time to go.

Just like we (or I at least) associate the 2011 cup win with that indelible and iconic six off Kulasekara, I don't want to see a half-cocked, half -a -second -behind Dhoni at the 2019 cup tarnishing my memory of such a fine career.

No ....I don't think Dhoni should  go now....yes ... today's performance was strange...but  i think Dhoni can still bat  one up the order .Another hard hitter should replace him. He is still good at playing an anchor role and then hard hitting. And he is still the brilliant keeper by far.

Up the order- at what position? 1-4 are locked up. 5 and 6 require players who can accelerate when needed.

Kohli cant play Dhoni/Raina/Rohit/Dhawan together.. Needs to play only 2 of them in any match. If we dont start now, 2019 world cup is as good as gone. (2019 world cup format is where every team plays the other. We will be severely exposed there )

SR of just 84 at number 6 is pathetic. He will continue to screw the team and fans in WC :((

Even Lord Pandey has better strike rate than Dhoni.:phehe:

Not talking  about batting positions. Dhoni can easily play at no:4 .Keep in mind that he is a multidimensional player who is a brilliant kepper and can aid Kohli in captaincy too.His only problem off late has been not able to hit out straight away. But with his past ability in mind and also his record in the last 2 years(able to maintain the avg: but a bit lower str: rate) , it can be easily said that he can play the anchor+hitter role to perfection at 4rth position.

For instance suppose the 2nd team wkt falls with in first 15 overs. Then he can come and consolidate.  Suppose the 2nd wkt falls only after 35th over. Then another hitter can come at the crease in place of Dhoni.Keep in mind this is a format where a lot more flexibility

in batting positions can be afforded when compared to test cricket.Sachin,Gilchrist.Sehwag,M.Waugh,Ganguly etc are all examples of this.

So I do think Dhoni still deserves a place in the eleven. His vast experience in several ways  would be a worth if channeled properly especially keeping in mind that world cup is only with in one year reach.

I will be objective over here. As much as I agree Dhoni needsto go he was not the nly problem in the game. The entire lineup was.

Yea but when Hardik came in and was going at a run a ball, Dhoni was starving Hardik of the strike as well as raising RRR. It’s a known fact that when you starve a good player of strike; it can lead to their dismissal. Dhoni was the final and decisive nail in our teams chase yesterday

If your top half goes for almost nothing you are in trouble to begin with.

It's even more pathetic and egregious when you think about what Odis have become and take short boundaries, two new balls, piss poor bowling into account.

They didn’t go for almost nothing, game was winnable when Dhoni came in. He finished off whatever chance we had. Even if you argue game wasn’t winnable, it’s a good future predictor (together with his recent history) of his competency to handle a similar winnable situation

Especially in this day and age with poweplays and short boundaries and two new balls, chasing is ridiculously easy if you play with correct intent. Dhonis only intention yesterday was to stay not out. He was even tuk tuking after pandya got out.

I already felt this way 3 years ago. But after today's embarrassing flop show where the crowd were booing this awful display, together with English commies mocking the go slow approach, is there anyone left in support of Dhoni's place in the ODI side? Make no mistake, he embarrassed Indian cricket and the country today.

When he retired from tests... He should have opted out of odi and T20 also.. May be after 6 months.. As he has been on a decline..his batting skills and even Raina 's skills are 50 percent down.. Both should retire now.
