velu
Ignored IPL and played red ball cricket for the last 4/5 months in england. Even though he didnt score much , he faced decent amount of balls. More than how many runs he scores , it will be more important how many overs he stays there the crease. All the best chepu ... beetle, zen and UrmiSinhaRay 1 2 Link to comment
Pollack
No, he won't. But hope he does since it would be great for us. LORD_analyst, velu, UrmiSinhaRay and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment
Tibarn
Hopefully he does well for our team to win, but with how much he seemed to struggle to score vs county bowlers, what will happen when Anderson/Broad are bowling to him? If he plays on average a lot of deliveries, like he did at Lord's last time, then that can be a decent performance. Moochad, velu and UrmiSinhaRay 1 2 Link to comment

The temperatures in Europe and India are not comparable, because you feel a lot more heat at lower temperature because of of a number of factors: Lesser pollution and clearer sky means very less UV rays are filtered, that's why even in the 20s Sunscreen is mandated here - Europe has some of the highest rates of skin cancer due to overexposure to sun Heat is dry, there is not much moisture in the air means grass and plantations dry quicker than equivalent temp in India Ozone layer is thinner as you go near the north pole (remember the ozone hole people talk about), again meaning more UV rays come unfiltered In summer the daylight hours are very long, for almost 18 to 20 hours per day meaning more exposure to sun So no, the equivalent of 30 degrees in UK and India is not the same!!! velu, adi B, UrmiSinhaRay and 1 other 1 2 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Pujara even if he scores a 50 it is more likely going to hurt Indians. He can score a 50 only where the par score is 600. He would consume 200 balls and make a 50. Jimmy Cliff, rahulrulezz, beetle and 4 others 1 2 3 1 Link to comment
GolGappe
Showed bit of intent in second dig of warm-up game against Essex so I am hopeful the criticism is falling into his ears. Nobody is asking him to turn into Sehwag but don't starve the stroke-makers of strike and hand the momentum back to the bowlers. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

rtmohanlal
a batsman playing at his position needs to see off new ball and score big when settled. That is very vital for a successful team result(even if it is a close loss).Either this hack must not play at all in this series or if played should do his role so perfectly. But based on his current series of struggles against county level bowlers, some thing miraculous should happen for him to score big against Broad & Anderson. So better not to play him at all.Playing him in just 1 test , then dropping when he fails(almost certain) doesn't do the team good at all. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

He's going to tire the non striker out before England quicks tire out. He has a bad habit of throwing his wicket away, on away tours, or getting his partner run out. Either way chances of him succeeding recede every passing day. UrmiSinhaRay and beetle 1 1 Link to comment

In English conditions, key is to punish bad balls once you are in. If you are stuck forever you are going to get a good one eventually and also you don't make bowler to think. Let us face it Pujara is no Dravid when it comes to surviving against moving balls. It is always a matter of time. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
rtmohanlal
this hack is such a sub continent track bully. 38 tests in Asia with 65 avg: .Means in the other 20 tests spread among 6 tours his average is poor.6 away tours and yet remaining poor and still being part of the team!!!!!!!!!!!! Dry heat is far better than moist heat. The main difference is difference in temperature. For people who have winters in 0 or below at times, 30 degrees will be scorching.
