Should Dhawan Bat at 3 ???

Recommended Posts

Lets not debate about him playing now, he is in XI

So where shud dhawan bat open or 3, Was thinking if Dhawan struggles against new ball so why not hide him atleast a bit .......Neither this is a typical english wkt ...who knws

I knw 90% team will go for left -right combination

What ur opinion ?

What if an early wicket falls and Dhawan has to face Anderson anyway? That's not how it works. You either perform in the batting order you are known for or just quit playing cricket.

yes that can happen but rahul is ur long term opener and he shud open, why to keep changing his position

Their are more chances of dhawan failing then Rahul so guard dhawan

Didn't Shastri and Kohli say Rahul is our third opener? Either Dhawan opens in all the matches or he sits out for Rahul. It's pretty simple. Or let Rahul be the regular opener.

yes read shastri interview , he said rahul is our 3rd opener

In an interview with ESPN, the former India international addressed various things including KL Rahul's role in the team for which Shastri said, "he has been picked as the third opener. But our batting order will always be flexible. The third opener can play anywhere in the top four. We are a very, very flexible outfit. Be prepared for that. We will surprise you guys at times."

Then Dhawan should open. What you are suggesting is use Rahul as a shield to protect Dhawan and when playing in an easier condition Rahul can go back to being a third opener and sit on the bench.

nope rahul is ur opener, dnt keep changing his position . His position shud be locked

Dhawan plays , he goes at 3

Dhawan gets dropped he opens

Its not fair to him and he is a better player

Ist dhawan who is fighting for a place, if he is vunerable against new ball send him one down . At the end its all about making most from ur player

rahul to keep chopping his position when he is our long term opener, let him settle in his position. He hasnt done anything wrong to be changed ....

Its dhawan who is fighting for a spot and 3 number is empty so try him at that

Actually it's Rahul who is fighting for his spot not Dhawan.

Opening is the toughest in Test cricket, so I don't think Rahul will be mulling over it too much if he's to bat at #3.
