Whether KL Rahul is the next Rohit Sharma ?

He won’t get more chances. Unfortunately there’s tough comparison out there.

As he’s demonstrated that he lacks patience, would be good if he resigns to his fate and focus on LOI cricket and leave test cricket for those who have more patience to stay in the middle.

He is the next Aravinda de Silva. Now you won't find a more inconsistent and crazy impulsive batsman than the Lankan but at his best he would make Sachin and Lara look second class. KLR needs to be supported, that is what great captains like Pataudi or Dada would have done. Kohli's captaincy will be judged on the basis of whether he can mentor and groom the next gen players...it is as much a challenge for VK as it is for KLR.

he should gett next test and no more. He has exposed in England, SA etc. Either he will deliver or he wont.

No one deserves endless chances. I think he will do good the next time.

Other than Dhwan in test and Rohit ( in odi)?

Anyone who bats at No 3 will be compared with Dravid as far as Indian replacements are concerned. But it's not fair to compare him to R D as of now. Having said that, he needs a good series here after a massive flop in SA.

Rahul in SA: 4 innings  30 runs at average of  7.50. But then we had Yuvraj Singh who averaged 4 runs  on test tour of Australia and he made two or 3 comebacks. So not that bad.

Here he has started with average of 4 runs. Needs to average better if he has to be even considered for next series.

Rahul needs a longer run but is going to have to score some runs soon. If he is as talented as people say then batting position should not matter that much and impact on his run scoring.

Might just be initial impressions but Rahul gives off the vibe that he is more comfortable in limited overs cricket and does not inspire the same levels of confidence when at the crease playing tests.

Honestly, I feel like the hype and the fame went too much into his head- he's more interested in the commercial aspect of playing cricket than doing well.

Bunty might make us believe that Rahul is some special talent yada yada, but the end of the day-the excessive hype he's receiving is gonna backfire on him if he plays poorly.
