Congrats Indian bowlers

I think it also has to do with the pitches. 3 tests in SA and this in Eng have been low scoring with pacers doing well and batsmen from both sides failing more often than not. Good thing is this brings us into play on such wickets. Otherwise earlier we would be rolled over and the opposition would score 400-500. Now a helpful wicket brings even our pacers into play. On flatter wickets theyd'd be less effective but then the batsmen would make runs.

So all in all we have a really good team as in all conditions we can compete well. SENA countries suck in spin conditions and some flat conditions.

Our bowling has improved so much. We hav an allround attack that can take 20 wickets. Kohli has had a HUGEEE role to play in this transformation.

With that being said, I would like to see our pacers get consistent from an impact standpoint, and not be someone who either picks a load of wickets or is a total liability in an innings.

If not for Ishant's special spell, we would hav been chasing 300 today. If not for Ashwin's earlier strikes and economy, the situation may have been even worse.

If our pacers had bowled in the right areas in the second innings, we could hav restricted England to a manageable  score. If catches were taken, we would hav probably been on the brink of victory tonight. Lol.

Another point to be noted is that since 2015, we are yet to play on an overseas pitch which is flattish with a tinge of life (our biggest nemesis).

The closest that comes to it is the Sabina Park 2016 pitch with no zip and there all our pacers plus Ashwin flopped.

There is promise in this attack but i suppose we are not yet there consistency wise.

It is the conditions .... When Ishant takes a 5-er, you know what our batsmen should expect

You seem to be underestimating Ishant Sharma everytime you refer to the 5-fer. If India wins this test match, he is right behind Virat and on par with Ashwin as the men who won India the match.

To clarify your question, look at this scorecard:http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/11691/scorecard/667713/england-vs-india-2nd-investec-test-india-tour-of-england-2014/

India scored nearly 650 in both the innings combined and Ishant shone through the match with his wickets. It is not always the case that if Ishant takes wickets, the conditions are bad for batting. When he gets wickets, he gets them in buckets.
