Jaimin says: Why can't India try Rohit as an opener in Tests? Dhawan and Rahul are anyways not providing the required starts. We all know what Sehwag did when he was asked to open in South Africa. Rohit on any day has better technique than Dhawan.

How can some people be so clueless about the game they follow religiously?

Ganguly was once convinced Dinda is the best pacer in the country, also wanted Shulka to make a comeback!

Dinda never played a test match.  We will never know how would he have fared in tests as his line and lengths used to be pretty good.

I hope they play tomorrow as the weather is expected to be better. If they play today, whoever bowls could get a major advantage as they can go all out for wkts

I won't pick a Dinda kind of pacer today with the kind of talent we have from 2015  onwards.

But, till 2014, our pace attack lacked accuracy and intensity as a group. There are 3 pacers who deserved some chances in test matches in this era.  Pankaj Singh, Ashok Dinda and Ishwar Pandey.  All were very accurate, bowled with a lot of heart, could move the ball and were fast-medium.  None of them were superb ... but would have been decent workhorse pacers who could maintain pressure from their end.

Look at the difference in the color of the pitch. Left side 2014 and right one is of last test.

That's what a 5th ranked team will do when hosting the #1 test team in the world.  Make sure the pitch is as green as possible, even when the conditions are "unseasonably" hot and dry.

Edit - Rain due tomorrow afternoon as well and so on monday. So we are taking about 2.5 days cricket.

@kira - You were right, Kohli's India wont get whitewashed. It will be 4-0 loss this time with this test being a draw :giggle:

Why so negative, didn't they show enough fight last test. They might not win the series but they sure will win one or two tests.

We'll win this series 3-1 or 2-1 if this match gets washed out

Yup. One thing we have seen under kohlis leadership when he's down in the series, is his remarkable ability to rally his troops and come back in the series. 2016 in  Sri Lanka. 2017 against Australia. His last overseas tours to SA and Aus (2014). The only ones oblivious to this are dhoni sycopanths which you can excuse them because of how lofty standards dhoni set overseas so they are dissappointed with Kohli.

0,63,25,32,13 and 11 in the second test match his contribution was important since that Durban track was bowler friendly. Why do you hate Viru so much?

why would i hate Viru? I just tell the facts.  Sehwag averages 33-34 in Sena countries that is a fact. Sehwag was a great SC batsman like Pujara.  Pujara also had an important contribution in Wandrers win on that minefield.
