Hypothetically If Kohli were to resign as captain , who would be your your choice for test captain?

 

My choice would be Ashwin.

The best allrounder we have.

More consistant as a batsman than some other specialist batsmen.

Best spinner we have who should be able to be in the 11 in most places.

Many were wanting Kuldeep to play ahead of Ashwin at the start of this series. Now we want Ashwin as Captain?

 

The simple reality is aside from the pace bowlers, no batsman aside from Kohli is a guaranteed starter in this XI.

This is not fair, Kohli should not get a free pass as soon as difficult tours start. Once SENA tours are done, should hand over to Rahul or Shaw or any new settled guy for easy series just like how Dhoni did to Kohli. No point of bringing in a new captain to clean up the mess created. Just hope that we do settle some youngsters in the XI and let them prosper till then. All he has done so far is tinker with the line up so much that there are no permanent options left in the team. Meanwhile defo change the coaching/management and cut some powers of the kaptaan saab.

There is no other option apart from Kohli, we need to ensure he is held accountable for team results/selection/mentoring and is surrounded by driven professional individuals, not alcoholics and druggies.

Kohli is a good on-field captain in tests. Him Having too much power in admin/selection decisions is what is screwing us.
