Cape Town

SA won the toss and opted to bat.

VK: Looking at the amount of the grass on the wicket and the surface being not that hard, looking at our bowlers' strength, I think we would have bowled first giving ourselves a good crack with the new ball .

Edgbaston

Eng won the toss and opted to bat

Virat Kohli - We were thinking about bowling first. The conditions are overcast, we want to make the most of it.

Don't remember what happened in Australia but this year in SA and Eng he got what he wanted 3 out of 5 times.

yes ...we all are blaming poor team selection, incompetency of batsmen ,picking proven failures again and again, lack of practice matches etc etc....but it is fact that toss have played  a big part in  previous SAF and current ENG series as of now.

Look at the previous post. Had Kohli won the tosses in Cape Town and Birmingham nothing would have changed.

You can't take all those statements as fact. At times it's to put doubt in the opposition's head whether they've made the right decision

That's 2 out of the 6 tosses, what about the rest?

He won the toss in Jo'berg. I meant 3 out of 7 times he got exactly what he wanted at the toss.

Who knows what kohli would have done after winning the toss? Maybe kohli said all those things because he already lost the toss, this isn't a proof of anything

How it is other topic when it clearly reflects that even winning the toss would not have any impact on outcome.

We could have won series in south africa but kohli was really poor in selecting xi and even on field he wasn't good. Give captaincy to someone else i am 100% sure they can do better and kohli will perform better as batsman too.

Some times captains just say that to play with the minds of the opposition.

After the toss is lost VK always says his intent was to do what the opposition put his team to do,  its a means of keeping up pressure and put some doubts on the opposition does not mean ****.
