Cheers to the two spinners in England theory

In fact many here wanted two spinners when the summer was harsh and sun was beating down on lords. No one expected it to rain on the 1st day, lose a days play and then started seaming right away. If england had batted on day 2 they would have also had a difficult time. Talk about throwing a wrench in one's plans.

But when they picked Kuldeep, they knew the weather.

This team lacks local knowledge. Two spinners were perfectly fine at Edgbaston - nobody would have blinked an eye lid. You can't go overseas and just automatically think two spinners are not permitted. But here with the cloud cover and forecast, two spinner theory was farcical before a ball was even bowled.

If 2 spinners have to be played in occasional tests in SENA, because the pitch may aid spin later on ... it is preferable to choose one of them in the all-rounder's slot and still play 3 specialist pacers.

Even while commenting during the game he could not say correctly whether ball bounced more or came slow etc. Gavaskar is better in mentioning those details.

What shastri does better is getting into verbal duel with others, be it Nasser during 2011 or that ball tampering saga in SA where he questioned referee.

He is best suited for spokesperson role, not any other role which involved getting into details of game.

When they finalized the team, it was expected to rain a lot and 5 days were not on the cards.

Don't know what Pandya is saying.

I personally want to see Kohli or Shastri coming out after the test match is over to answer their ridiculous selections and tactics.

To be honest, one out of 100 tests in sena, you will get a pitch to play two spinners. If team wants an extra bowler, always go for an extra pacer in these conditions, rather than an extra spinner.

I have told many times that even in ODIs kuldeep bowls these full toss balls every over. U can get away with it in ODI but test match is all about pressure.

Jadeja should be our second spinner in overseas. And Ashwin should br the first one on the team list even before Kohli. Kuldeep can be a third spinner in subcontinent conditions for x factor. Like how Kumble and rahane used him

Yes

DK in place of Rahul was a tactical move by Kohli and the other two Thakur and Bhuvi were given chance/exposure.I remember Athers was bit surprised in the comm box saying that England are more or less settled but India are still trying to figure it out who their best players would be before the next WC.He said VK told him at the toss that DK is a tactical move while rest two were given opportunity to get the feel of the tour and conditions.

We are discussing a situation when the management want to play 2 spinners ... and the team composition thereafter.

They should've played 2 spinners, instead of fake A/R at Edgbaston. Bow they're doing the opposite, always reactionary and chasing the game.
