Bhuvneshwar Kumar has failed to recover from the back issue and the right-arm pacer is all set to miss out on selection in the squad for the final two Test matches against England.

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has failed to recover from the back issue and will not be available for selection for the final two Tests of the series, a report in The Mumbai Mirror suggests. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had expectations of him getting fit for the final two games, the reason behind it mentioned that a decision over his selection will be taken afterward. Now when the pacer is unavailable, Shardul Thakur might retain his place when the squad for the last two games will be named after the completion of the third Test.

Bhuvneshwar had aggravated his back issue during the third ODI and the final ODI of the series against England on July 17. He wasn’t fully fit to participate in the game, as it looked, but played the final ODI. The issue that emerged was enough to keep the pacer out for the first three Tests of the series.

Bhuvi's injury should be investigated. Who made the call that Bhuvi should play the 3rd ODI when he was not fully fit???

it does not matter.  even if he had not played, he still could not have played the test series.  i am afraid he is out for at least 6 months if the injury what i suspect is.

Starc, Cummins skipped IPL (probably under instructions from CA)

Steyn stayed away too, to rest, and was back playing vs SL in Tests

So not sure what likes of BCCI and Sahastri plan when seeing huge 5 series Tests coming up in England then Asia cup, then Aus tour

surely could have requested Bhuvi, Bumrah and Shami all to rest and skip IPL and compensate their IPL teams

They all skipped because of injury. Steyn was not even picked. BK was not injured. and Cummins and Hazlewood are still injured.
