The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils (DD) wants to do away with ‘Devils’ from their franchise name in the upcoming twelfth edition of the lucrative IPL.

Furthermore, Parth Jindal, the director of JSW sports is trying to introduce and eventually imply some more changes soon.

Parth isn’t very comfortable with the captain being too flamboyant. He believes the individual heading the team should be more simple in his outlook, TOI reported.

Former Australian cricketer, Ricky Ponting is likely to take full control over the franchise. However, former Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh will be appointed as the new mentor for Delhi, according to the report.

Moreover, Jindal is aiming to change the name from Delhi Daredevils to something else along with a change in the apparel.

Young Mumbai-based batsman Shreyas Iyer led the Daredevils side in the last season of the IPL. He put up a good show since he took over reins from the veteran Gautam Gambhir, who stepped midway through the season following a miserable show

Jindal has a lot of plan in his mind for the changes that he wants to introduce at the earliest. The new owner admitted that the retained players would be informed and others will not be retained for the next edition.

Moreover, Ponting is now the face of the franchise. He will be the sole decision maker while ace off-spinner Harbhajan is likely to assist him as the mentor.

Harbhajan is likely to bid adieu to the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings(CSK) who bought him earlier this year.

Delhi Daredevils is yet to win an Indian Premier League trophy. Daredevils finished at the bottom of the table in the last edition of the league earlier this year.

In addition, they will be desperate to put a hand on the trophy in the upcoming edition. Also, they are keen to build a strong squad.

Harbhajan as mentor why not make Gambhir mentor of the team if he is not retained as a player how is Bhajji going to motivate the players :giggle:?

Wahi soch raha tha wo to Darcy Short aur baki BBL players ki lottery lagwa dega means Munro will be released.

Roy is definitely a goner since England players won't be available next year.

Daredevils had the best name in the IPL.

Most of the other teams have boring, unimaginative, or corny names like Kings XI, Superkings, Knight Riders, Sunrisers, SuperGiants, Royal Challengers

They can't see anything past Royal/Super/King based names

They never lived up to their name of Daredevils though and it looks bad after continuous humiliation.

They had 1 good season...

Either way, they have some nice young players now like Pant, Iyer, and Rabada who can make them a better team in a season or two.

First two seasons and then fifth one after that they failed miserably and yes they have a good team but no experienced captain.

Agree with you is Parth Jindal powerful enough any idea?

Not much.

Has A bit of  influence in Delhi power breaking circle else I don't think so.

Couldn't bet enough for Bengaluru FC to win This year's ISL Though he's known to be a good manager in sporting line.

Key is to bet well in the undertable agreements and have loads of power.

Can A Parth Jindal stand in front of Nita , Badshah, Srini Mamu etc etc?

Even that SRH owner is more powerful than Jindal.

Ultimately, IPL is  a circus run by TRP,  media trends and Betting circles.

And when RCB couldn't win despite so many fans,  it's a bit farfetched to imagine DD winning IPL in this decade.
