I6MTW
Saw Gladiator, Braveheart, 300, and The Patriot recently, which brought me to this topic. So many great cult classics over the years. This genre had so many inaccuracies as well. Braveheart had only 2-3 accurate things in the whole movie. List out the best ones over the years and your favourite ones. I6MTW
I have to see Ben hur. How is it? Kingdom of heaven I heard is not that good. Original that is. I heard the directors cut is fantastic. Same for Troy as well. Spartacus is another good classic.

Ben Hur is a little bit mopey, preachy and less about a war film than a film from the POV of a 'rags to riches quasi-turncoat' story. The best war film you will probably ever see is Das Boot. The best war entertainment on TV however, is not a film, but a 12 part mini series called Band of Brothers. *EASILY* the best show ever made about war, period. Its the 'Godfather part-II' of war genre. coffee_rules

Muloghonto
PS: Das Boot is in German. However, it is one of those movies, where you don't need to understand the language, to understand the powerful storyline, emotions, etc. of the characters.
