  • Inconsequential match
  • Two ordinary sides in my opinion
  • Missing the biggest star player across both sides

So whats exactly the genesis behind the so called hype

It’s the media and Pakistani ex cricketers/current players who are hyping it as an all important clash it was fun 10 years ago when we had likes of Sehwag/Sachin/Gambhir/MSD/Dravid and co against their players current set of players are mediocre and ordinary.

Bashir Chacha, on the other hand, said he will happy even if India wins and insisted "cricket is just cricket" at the end of the day.

"India and Pakistan game will happen every year. Last time we won [Champions Trophy final] and this time I will be happy if you win the game," Bashir said.                                                                                                                          Much respect for this gentleman's way of thinking. Mighty generous of him to sponsor his "rival"

thats right.

he used to wear a green with crescent outfit..nowadays he is having an Indian flag in the side too.. definitely a good gesture. Lots of respect for the guy, obviously he must be a successful business man in the west..but yeah nice touch.

How is India an oridinary side, even without Kohli they should be one of the best teams.I don't see other than England which team is better.

I specifically meant this Ind side with a non existent middle order.Ind has a potential of being a world beater provided right personnel are backed.

In so far as Pak is concerned, I maintain they are bang average side

KL Rahul should be in the side. No brainer. Cant believe Rayudu or Karthik is preferred ahead of him. Same for Pant ahead of Dhoni.

Rohit just showing how low class opponent are, by beating them with a team which struggled against Hongkong.

Could we not have given a walkover to Pakistan and still qualified in Super 4?

Since both sides beat HK, both had already qualified for S4

and other peral from Sarfaraz saheb

This time his problem is India scheduling.

Apparently his team is suffering in the heat traveling between two venues - while India stays in Dubai.

Lol first they Make India play back to back matches and then this champion complains that India is not shifting between Abu Dhabi and Dubai ?

moron.

As is India is the no 2 side in world, if they get strong no 4 and 5 , they would be virtually unbeatable. They will have no holes anywhere.

After King Kong split your bewda avatar wide open, everyone is so hyped up to know one thing. How does a split Bewda sit on a chair in the pavilion for 6+ hrs? Eager minds want to know. I feel for the chair!!!

This is always the case. I honestly don't care about IND- pak matches anymore. The only one that was interesting to me was 2011 WC SF. Otherwise, Ind-Pak matches are always one-sided dull matches. I think our media needs to show some shame and stop hyping these matches like they are something else. I would rather view our rivalry in ODIs with Australia. Those are always fun edge-of-the-seat matches with great passion from both sides.

Khota bhai any views on IK who has written to Modi to resume peace talks as Cricket is suffering due to it.
I don't think they'll approve given That both the countries are locked in hostility.

What's worse is how the media traps our cricketers who don't seem to care about the padosis team much. The media just needles them into commenting otherwise our players would just ignore them. Compare to Pakistan players who never miss a chance to talk about Indian team!

Look at the news anchor going gaga over Afridi here shamelessly, as far as Indo Pak match goes for their players it's an ultimate showdown as it's chance for them to be heroes but we have played against Australia and other teams so we treat it normally than it being everything.

Actually Pakistan has done so many heinous crimes to Indians that most people hate them beyond words.
Also I guess Indians have more outlet to express their nationalism than some Pakistan-Indian cricket match.
Nobody cares except for oldies

India Australia are more intense and somewhere it helped us as they were the top teams, for their media players they believe heroes emerge out of Indo-Pak contest and they become world beaters when it's not the case anymore.

I don't see Indian cricket suffering. If they recognize that kashmir is integral part of India than Modi should send the team to Lahore next day.

This boycott of Pakistan cricket is working much better than I expected.

Yeah Australia still has a strong team .
Will always have - their sports culture is very strong
Australia has traditionally been the strongest team with legendary players so there is a romance associated with beating it.

Indo-Pak was relevant before when they had good players but the bilateral bans kinda killed the hype.

I always maintained that Indian Media doesn't truly understand what india wants.
People watch these Ind-Pak matches because it's tradition - but the gruesome fights between the both countries is actually killing the mutual respect they had earlier.

Still people are there to eat this falsified hype - but the next generation will not eat it.
They aren't exactly interested in cricket so yeah

After the 2004-2005 tour cricket became regular between two of us for me all the hype was killed then and their side went downhill after 2007 while we got IPL so cricket with them became an afterthought.
