speedheat
Well Asia cup has pretty much confirmed that we have massive problem in middle order and it needs a complete revamp. However I would still won't count us out as favorites as we are different beast altogether in ICC tournaments. With less than a year left for cricket world cup lets check who are the favorites to lift it, let's see who are better prepared. Please vote any 4 teams that you think are the favorites and potential semifinalists taking into consideration the conditions and recent form in 50 over format. bowl_out
It's home team advantage in recent years... 2011-India, 2015-Aus On those lines, 2019-Eng ODI player quality has gone down across teams. England is the only strong team. India has a good top 3 and some good bowlers. Most other teams are shyte. UrmiSinhaRay and Stan AF 1 1 Link to comment
SUMO
If India can solve middle order crisis then its India. Atm its england. Our top 3 are best, along with 2 wrist spinners and bumrah give us the edge. We could have beaten england in england with bhuvi bumrah even with **** middle order. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

If this is India's starting XI, they should be joint favorites KL Rahul Dhawan Kohli Rayudu MSD Jadhav Jadeja Chahar Bhuvi Kuldeep Bumrah 5 frontlien bowlers + Jadhav, batting till #9. And no tuk tuk at the top of the order. This is basically England's recipe for success. Bat deep, have 6 bowlers and go hard from ball 1 With this team we will take bottom spot. GolGappe
India were without Bumrah when England beat them 2-1 I think one more solid middle order batsman and a keeper who can slog a bit will make India a very competitive side and one of the favorites. They can't play full tournament with same set of bowlers. There may be times when one of the wrist openers may have to be dropped in order to make room for an extra seamer. jf1gp_1
Fav is england and they should win but they should have won CT but didnt. Aussies could be one potential challengers. Actually NZ also has a decent team for english conditions. From asia India is the only possible candidate. Pak won CT thanks to 2 good days, WC has a very long format they will get exposed like they did in asia cup. SL are a mess. BD doesnt have the skill. Despite their spirited performance at asia cup you have to be dumb to think afg can win world cup. Reaching quarters in itself will be an achievement for them. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
Nikola
Australia without a doubt. Agree they are one of the worst side right now but wait for worldcup you will yourself see how good they will play in wc. Warner Finch & Smith along with Cummins, Starc & Hazlewood will be deadly combinations in batting & bowling. England will choke against Austrilia and maybe even against India. We don't have middle order nor good pace attack. Only Good at Top 3 and Spin department. Edited October 2, 2018 by Nikola UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Vk1
A fully fit Aussie bowling attack is a really good one. Batting will always come good for them. Plus the history, culture of winning big games. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
