The GDP of India hides all the jobs that are local in the rural areas, liberals laugh when we talk about small-scale employment (pakoda politics), India is able to get most of the above poverty line because of the massive amount of people gaining employment in small scale industries which are unaccounted in jobs data. Follow Indo-economists like S Gurumurthy to understand how local economy works. The whole world tried the global economy and it has failed in USA, UK where jobs are getting limited to certain areas, now they want to believe in protectionism and local economy. I agree. The combination of young + jobless + stupid + nothing to lose = a scary proposition. Ind is already seeing crime rates (including against women) go high if I am not mistaken .... Yeah and all the above needed specific conditions peculiar to their regions they originated from. Chinese like revolution could never work in India. We are far too heterogeneous for that.
