Number
Batting as a specialist bat adds extra pressure on wk bats as then your role is of a pure batsman. You are judged as a specialist batsman and your replacement options get multiplied. Karthik (and now Pant) being relatively unestablished should get that extra cushion. MSD being a senior member should leave the WK duties to these guys as his spot in the XI is always guaranteed and as much as his PR keeps singing about his superhuman keeping abilities, they are as regulation as they come so it makes no difference in LOIs. May be this will allow him to focus more on his batting and he can come out of the bad form. Thoughts.. UrmiSinhaRay and beetle 1 1 Link to comment
Popular Post wanted_desi
Why can't Dhoni just enjoy his life with all the money he earned rather than making sure India doesn't win WC 2019? diehardpacer, GolGappe, raki05 and 7 others 3 7 Link to comment
kirkutfan
If you take Dhoni away from wicket keeping, you will have a true passenger who is good at nothing. Right now, he is still a better keeper than Pant. GolGappe and DHONI_FANN 2 Link to comment
DHONI_FANN
Dhoni is the best wkt keeper we have got. His batting position should be changed though. He should come at no 8 or 9 Laaloo and nevada 1 1 Link to comment

Pant should be fine. Old man needs to have some shame and step away. rahulrulezz, DHONI_FANN, construction430 and 2 others 1 1 3 Link to comment
sandeep
I didn't bother reading OP's post beyond the title, because its a real dumbarse question. Answer: Because he's not good enough as a batsman. QED. Link to comment

Contribution even before batting is well over 100 runs why did he resign from captaincy then? diehardpacer and Switchblade 2 Link to comment
Number
The answer he is not good enough to play as a batsman is quite obvious. The point is, isn't this unfair to Karthik who as a batsman did better than Dhoni still got dropped ? Why should the burden of being specialist batsman be taken by Karthik or Pant who are unestablished and inexperienced and not by Dhoni. Laaloo, beetle, rkt.india and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment

I'm not going to bother rehashing what @UrmiSinhaRay has laid out in detail several times. You should read the forums a bit more before asking questions that have been fully answered people who could force him to resign why cant they force him to retire? So dont go on the track of conspiracy theories. Switchblade, express bowling, UrmiSinhaRay and 2 others 1 4 Link to comment

Kohli is expert at chasing in non knockout matches and that's it, he has no clue on building team morale or making smart on field decisions. velu and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment

UrmiSinhaRay
people who could force him to resign why cant they force him to retire? So dont go on the track of conspiracy theories.I totally get your logic but the thing is same things have been corroborated by multiple people, including one who works for Rhiti so I had to believe that. They didn't have a legit replacement back then and I think the power equations have changed from that time only. Now that Pant is almost ready, maybe we"ll see the same process repeated.Sent from my CPH1609 using Tapatalk Link to comment
gakgupta
I remember, there was a time we used to play with 10 players...Atleast that was what people used to say. Yes...ganguly was the culprit. He used to come and go like a jiffy. Infact, to answer one of the fellow commentators question as " What will be ideal position for ganguly, now that he is not in form". For this question, Sidhu saab answered that no:11. Someone else commented that he should never come at any position. If Dhoni starts playing only as a batsmen, then we will be playing with only 9 players. Because, he is intimidating the bowlers and lowering their morale. And its known fact that he is completely useless with the bat. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
