India thrashed Windies in the two-match Test series to register their tenth consecutive series win at home. The No.1 ranked Test team played like invincibles as they didn’t allow the visitors to bounce back at any moment in the series. The Indian camp saw this series as a preparation before the tough four-match Test series against Australia in December.

Skipper Virat Kohli would be a happy man after his team ticked most boxes especially with the emergence of young and raw talent. Though the only worrying factor is to find the right opening combination after KL Rahul’s struggle for form continued even in this series at home.

Kohli optimistic about Rahul’s fightback

Rahul has been through a lean patch for a time longer than one would expect. He ended his miserable tour of England with a century in the ultimate game at The Oval. However, it is now assumed to be one-off after he failed to score against a mediocre Windies bowling attack. But Kohli was optimistic that the opener will bounce back from his failures. He respected his attitude towards the game and the will to get back into form.

“I am sure KL will look at his errors and look to rectify them. There is no doubt about his attitude and how he goes about his game. He is very positive and is someone who also appreciates people telling him his fault which is a good quality. It’s good he spent some time at the crease, stayed not out and looked more composed than the first two innings. I’m sure he would like to build on that,” said Kohli as quoted by Mid-day.

The emergence of youngsters is a huge positive

This indeed was the biggest positive for the home team as the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant proved their mettle at the highest level. The duo will now go to Australia on the back of some confidence and runs under their belt.

“I know the conditions were not as challenging, but in Test cricket, the first and most important thing is confidence and understanding that you can score runs at this level. From that point of view, [I am] very happy that these guys have taken their chances so well,” Kohli said after India’s win in Hyderabad.

They found out some invisible faults which were never there and they turned him into crap. Beauty of Indian coaching system. Now there is nothing for Kohli to be worried about his legacy. No one can challenge him now.
