Switchblade
Quote https://www.crictracker.com/bhuvneshwar-kumar-admits-the-tour-of-australia-is-going-to-be-tough/ Team India had a cakewalk of a Test series against the Windies recently. With the win in both the matches, the Indian side extended its domination at home. They have been a formidable force on the home soil having won their last 10 series. The challenges on the overseas tours, though, still persist. India’s next overseas assignment is the tour of Australia. Premier Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is optimistic about the team’s chances down under. Indians have struggled in Test matches on the Australian soil in recent years. Bhuvneshwar admitted that the tour will be challenging for the visitors. He noted that no tour is easy and it is about adaptability which will be the key when India travels to play down under. “The Australia tour will be challenging, no tour is easy. But Australia will be challenging because when you play outside your home country, you need to adapt to certain conditions. It will not be easy for bowlers as there is hardly any movement these days,” Kumar was quoted as saying by TOI. On absence of Smith, Warner It is worth noting that the nemesis of the Indian side, when the team toured last, were David Warner and Steve Smith. However, this time around, the Aussies will miss the services of these two gentlemen. Bhuvi rightly cited that the absence of Smith and Warner does not imply that the tour will be easy for the visitors. He pointed out that there are other quality players in the Australian side. “I cannot say that we will overcome them. They don’t have the two batsmen (Smith and Warner), who have done well over the years. But there are other batsmen in their place and it is not that they are not good. It is their home conditions. For us, if the two were there, it is a challenge, now they are not there, it will still be a challenge,” noted the veteran pacer. On the rotation policy In recent times, the Indian team has adopted the rotation policy ensuring that the players get adequate rest. Bhuvi was rested in the Windies Test series. He stressed on the importance of this policy and the rest that the players are getting. He mentioned that the rest helps the players recover better before they turn up for the side in the next assignment. “The way fast bowlers are managed, the rotation policy is in a way good, as we get a break and others get a chance and the body remains fresh. Breaks are needed after you play a long tour. You are mentally tired, like Jasprit Bumrah said when you return, you are fresh and rearing to go. Hence, breaks are needed, as your body gets tired,” conceded Bhuvneshwar. Link to comment

He has shown the ability to take wickets in India, Eng, WI & SA so one series isn't gonna change much. If he were had a gujju last name like Pujara or Pandya u'd probably regard him as the next coming of Shaun Pollock. The Dark Horse, Jimmy Cliff, beetle and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Please see his stats in Aus .... And in ODIs, he is among our worst specialist bowlers esp. in the last two years If he is not successful, we have good pace bowling options to easily replace him Quote If he were had a gujju last name like Pujara or Pandya u'd probably regard him as the next coming of Shaun Pollock. Usually I do not support trundlers .... That is your assumption. If true, I would be supporting Jadeja, Axar, Unadkat, Parthiv, etc. In general, I support talented youngsters, pace bowlers and unconventional cricketers Edited October 18, 2018 by zen speedheat 1 Link to comment

What a yardstick to measure. Bhuvi being a trundler is your assumption, and wholly untrue. He's a focused bowler who upped his game and managed a fiver as well as MoM in India, not something that trundlers do in ages. Switchblade, beetle and fedex 3 Link to comment

For his supporters like you, I hope that he succeeds .... But in my book, he is a trundler, who would not make desired impact once the ball stops moving around .... And we have bowlers who can be more impactful in most conditions Suhaan and raki05 2 Link to comment

zen
Players like Rahul (struggling currently), Rahane and Bhuvi could ensure that a series in Aus becomes relatively less exciting for a change Link to comment
