IMF Tabdeeli in Pakistan

This is clearly a cautionary tale of how wrong policies can screw up a nation. They were ahead of us in terms of growth and development till the 80s. Fighting war on two fronts and using state sponsored has literally brought the country on the brink. Today, Bangladesh is way ahead of Pakistan on any major parameter.

Now, they reach out to IMF who have levied strict conditions for the loan. Imran Khan is busy doing crowd funding for dams. Strange country.

They were only "ahead" because they got billions from the US through the 80s for being a rented thulla during the Afghan-Soviet conflict.

Their problem is that they keep spending way too much on the military.  Not a surprise because they are being oppressed by their military mafia overlords.  If you don't run your economy and invest in growth, keep buying bombs and bullets instead, what do you think will happen?

Its not like they had a choice in the matter.  If they hadn't gone along, they would be where Iraq and Afghanistan are today - split apart by civil war.

And neither can they blame it on "someone else".   They made the choice to be a rented thulla mujahideen for the US in the 1980s, and then tried to use the same tactics against India in the 90s and 2000s.

As you sow, so you reap...
