What are we learning with another Rohit/Dhawan/Kohli top order show?

Latest ODI on a patta vs weak opposition. Time to blood in some youngsters and see how they go. Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli- safe to say these guys will eat away at least 60% of the total 9/10 times vs such opposition in such conditions. How are we ever gonna know the strength of our middle order? This is why we failed in CT final 2017- top order got out cheaply and we had no batting order left after that. Had to go with has beens yuvraj and dhoni....rest is history

In ideal situation...we should hv rested Kohli & Rohit and gave chances to some young players. But we all know BCCI organizes these series es to boost stats of players before our overseas struggle starts again. Don't worry we will get to see our middle order a lot in Aust/NZ

Timely thought provoking thread by the OP. Once Virat got out, mere 67 runs were required in  13 overs with 8 wkts in hand . The platform was the most appropriate to groom  the  most ideal candidate   for the 4rth position as per Virat, ie Rayudu.The need of the hour was to give as much strike to Rayudu so that he will gain a lot of  live match experience &  confidence by the time world cup 2019 begins.Instead Rohit Sharma scored 45 of the remaining 67 runs in  hurry  to pocket a 150+ as if it is the bigger deal.   And these sense less morons are  claiming that they are always in the hunt for an ideal  no:4

I agree with the essence of the post but OTOH, the top three also need practice to sharpen their skills. They can't just walk in and start chasing with ridiculous ease unless they have been doing it regularly. In yesterday's match, I would have sent in Pant instead of Rayudu for sure and even at #3 to allow him to bat freely as a pinch hitter. One proven performer along side a newbie is the way to go for grooming new talent.

Jadeja- Kohli plays every thing ahead of his body and rohit sharma waits back n uses the pace, thats why bowlers struggle to find the length against them
