Switchblade
Quote https://www.crictracker.com/reports-unhappy-with-srh-shikhar-dhawan-likely-to-move-to-mumbai-indians/ India’s limited overs opener Shikhar Dhawan is reportedly unhappy with his IPL team the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and is looking to jump boats. According to reports, the left-hander is not satisfied with his low fee, and the Sunrisers are negotiating a transfer for him with three-time champions Mumbai Indians. If the move materializes successfully, Dhawan will be joining his Indian teammate and opening partner Rohit Sharma in the new setup. The prolific pair, who’ve been in top form for India, will reunite for the franchise in what could be a huge boost for the Mumbai outfit ahead of the new season. Dhawan has previously played for the Mumbai Indians for two consecutive seasons back in 2009 and 2010. He’s developed as a solid limited-overs cricketer and his numbers speak for themselves. The flamboyant left-hander has been one of the consistent Indian batsmen in the tournament since its inception and has also been one of the leading run-getters for the Sunrisers since he joined the franchise in 2013. He amassed 497 runs at an average of 38.23 last season, striking the ball at close to 137. Dhawan has 4058 runs under his belt off 143 IPL games, averaging a healthy 33. Why is Dhawan unhappy with the Sunrisers? The Mumbai Mirror report which revealed Shikhar Dhawan’s dissatisfaction with his current IPL team, read, “Dhawan is not happy in Sunrisers Hyderabad and has expressed his desire to leave.” Although he has a contract with the franchise for the next three years, a move can indeed be forced out. The report further suggested that Dhawan got into an argument with Sunrisers coach Tom Moody. He insisted on being retained by the franchise as the no.1 or no.2 player since he is one of the top four limited-overs players in the Indian team. Shikhar Dhawan was bought for Rs 5.2 crore in the auctions with SRH using the Right To Match card to retain him. However, he wasn’t the Sunrisers’ biggest buy as they also retained David Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Rs 12 and Rs 8.5 crore respectively. “That’s right. If we get a couple of good players as a trade-off, we’re open to it,” a Sunrisers official was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror. The report further mentioned that the franchise is also trying to negotiate a deal with Kings XI Punjab and the Delhi Daredevils. The IPL trading window is currently open for a week. Yesterday, the Mumbai Indians confirmed the arrival of South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock as the first trade of the window. Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been released by the Rohit Sharma-led side as well. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Dhawan has been decent in the last 2 seasons but he is still an average T20 player. With SRH he will be a big fish in a small pond considering a batting line up of Hooda,Pandey,Pathan etc etc. that is his best bet Obviously he will make a lot more money with MI but this may not be the best move for him especially with the kind of firepower MI can afford with their influence and money. sandsaims, philcric, UrmiSinhaRay and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment

SRH is also in touch with DD and Kings to trade him off knowing DD and Kings they might end up having him would be a foolish move though. In fact DD is releasing Gambhir so he might be the replacement. DD would have benefited from him. They have too many rookies so it is good to have an experienced player. Kings X1 ,well they will suck regardless of what they try because they never seem to have a plan no matter whom they get. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

DD are always extreme in 2017 good bowlers but batting wise so thin then this year the opposite with the new owner lets see what happens will be interesting how Ipl teams will fare in South Africa. Yeah I was thinking the same. He would risk his place in the XI if he moves to strong (top order) batting team. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
wanted_desi
His ego got hurt in SRH as he wasn't retained. At least in franchise cricket, being senior doesn't mean sh**. beetle, Switchblade and UrmiSinhaRay 1 2 Link to comment
