Should Rohit, Dhawan and Virat be rested for the final 3 ODIs against West Indies?

Should India's top 3 batsmen be rested to test out the bench strength? Having Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli scoring heaps of runs against West Indies only hurts the team as it doesn't answer the questions about our middle order with not a lot of time left before the World Cup.

I say rest all 3 and let's see if the bench players and middle order can stand up to the task or be given a scare like against Hong Kong.

I read somewhere that there is a plan to rest Dhawan after the 2nd ODI and bring in Shaw as opener for the remaining 3 games. If Dhawan flops in the second ODI also, then it will be convenient to drop him. Kohli has already taken a break by skipping the Asia cup, so he won't sit out. Rohit probably won't mind a break as he has played the Asia cup.

But then there is chance we might loose 1 - 2 matches or maybe even series. People say middle order don't get enough chance to prove themselves but our middle order is so weak that top 3 takes whole responsibility to finish the match and if they don't do then i doubt middle order can do it even once in 3 matches.

If we lose the series, we will know where we stand as a batting unit. Better lose a series or two now rather than taking an undercooked middle order along to England and bottle it in the knockouts when the top 3 are dismissed early.

Dhawan wont get out easily tomorrow and he is a beast in ODI on flat tracks.

but yes if he and rohit are rested SHAW and Mayank can be tried out as Openers against WI in ODI...even Gill is coming out well.

In an article in a vernacular newspaper. It said that  Like Pant, Shaw has also generated excitement about his potential in LOIs and he might be tried out.

Already there are rumours that all is not well in the wag corner. Apparently, Mrs dhawan felt that it was her birthright being an Aussie citizen to watch her husband in her own country. While Rohit cannot fathom what is it that he cannot do that rahane can - a sentiment shared by majority of Indian people these days.

Now if you take out Rohit and dhawan while also dropping them for Oz tour, there will open civil war in the dressing room.

Also Rohit may not be as big as kohli but he now has a substantial fanbase similar to yuvraj Singh at his peak and the average Indian cricket fan will feel robbed in his forced rest. The murmers and whispers of kohli's conspiracy and agenda against a potential leadership material in Rohit will gain a fresh lease of life and a louder voice.
