CoverDrive
Shami started uncertainly but then did well through the match. He can be a big component of the bowling attack. One issue is with Pandya back he may never be picked. Right now Bhuvi is first pick but sometimes he is not as effective so Shami is good backup. Him bowling those tight overs with yorkers in the end creates good option at death as well as gives us a genuine wicket taking option. Right now If Bumrah gets injured we are basically done for so it is good to have Shami bowling well. express bowling, AuxiliA, Suhaan and 3 others 4 2 Link to comment
rkt.india
Shami can play in 3 seamers if pandya bats in top 6 and become the 6th bowler. We can pick Krunal as the second spinner in place of Chahal and bat at 7. Team management needs to look at different options and combinations. Just 2 specialist seamers wont work in WC in England and Krunal Pandya is a damn good LOI bowler. Edited October 26, 2018 by rkt.india Pratik77 1 Link to comment
Pratik77
Bumrah bhubi nd Shami will be ideal pacer combo for england... Link to comment
express bowling
Shami is a genuine wicket taker in ODIs. Has a low average of 26 and high wickets per match ratio of 1.8. His end-bowling, using good yorkers and slower balls, was impressive yesterday. But his issues are going for too many runs in occasional games, not being a good fielder and dodgy knees. Bumrah, Bhuvi, Khaleel and Shami can be the 4 pacers who are focused on from now on in ODIs till WC 19 ... unless some new quick is tried in the last 3 matches against the WI. Can happen when you have played like 3 odi matches in last 4 years. He was looking avg before worldcup but he was our best pacer. If you give him chance to bowl in first 10 and middle overs then he will be effective. Keep at max 2-3 overs of him in last 10 overs. Link to comment

Nikola
Idk how selections work but when you perform there are high chances you will get dropped and when you don't, don't worry you will still be in squad and playing xi. Edited October 26, 2018 by Nikola Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment

He can be a match winner too especially while defending runs at death. But no one is going to be good playing few matches. One thing for sure, he won't be worst pacer if we play 3 of them in ODIs. bhakum20 1 Link to comment

If you have doubt over his death bowling then you can finish most of his overs before 40th over and keep 2 - 3 for death. Idk why he wasn't selected in CT 2017 where umesh, bumrah, bhuvi all got chance but not him considering he was our best odi bowler 2 -3 years ago but since then he has played only 3 - 4 matches. But when he is in zone he is strike bowler. Bhuvi even on his good days in ODIs is just average and a bit above average in death. express bowling 1 Link to comment
