velu
Quote News.com.au understands Warner was offended by a sledge from a Wests player and told the umpires he was taking himself out of the game. He left the crease and walked off the field, heading into the sheds as the game came to a halt. It’s believed Magpies player Jason Hughes — the brother of former Test player Phil Hughes — used the word “disgrace” when sledging Warner. According to spectators at the ground, some of the left-hander’s teammates had to convince him to return to the wicket and after a short break in play, he resumed his innings. There was initially some confusion because once a batsman has left the field of play, they are unable to return to the crease — unless they are returning after having retired hurt. However, news.com.au understands Western Suburbs players allowed Warner to return because they did not want him to be dismissed in such a fashion. Warner went on to raise his bat for a half century, reaching 50 as Randwick-Petersham moved to 2/93. He then continued to punish the home side’s attack and saluted the crowd again, reaching triple figures as he went to tea unbeaten on 114 having guided his team to 2/184 after 62 overs. https://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/david-warner-leaves-field-after-grade-cricket-sledge/news-story/537225b070bbf2ee3651538072e4c593 beetle 1 Link to comment

Jamadagni
Poor guy. I really feel for him. One of the outrageous talents in cricket in recent years. Only next to AB when it comes to smacking both pacers and spinners at will. He is still loved by all IPL fans. After all, he is the best overseas player ever in the IPL history. Lannister
He used to run his mouth nonchalantly at other international players. Look at him now. It's Karma, Warner. YCCC, nevada, Switchblade and 4 others 1 1 3 2 Link to comment
nevada
Foul-mouthed brat and so called leader of the pack of sledgers now acting like a sissy and literally running away from the field when sledged. Typical Australian cricketer. I hope he and Smith get sledged no holds barred when they make their comebacks to international cricket. velu, YCCC and UrmiSinhaRay 1 2 Link to comment
beetle
May be he got emotional because it came from the brother of the guy he was close to .....and hence could not give it back. Warner has been pretty emotional about phil's death. philcric, UrmiSinhaRay, Temujin Khaghan and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment

prasen82
Let's cut some slack. We all make mistakes . What's the point in hounding some one for life. They made a mistake , got punished, let's move on... Their punishments a deterrent for others to not indulge in similar crime. When we can forgive so called Bollywood superstars , Warner's crime is no big shakes. Edited October 27, 2018 by prasen82 Link to comment
